I originally posted the following (italics below) in the "Tulsa Job Market" thread, but since I am essentially selling myself, the "Local Marketplace" board probably better serves the purpose of my plea.  Again, any advice or direction would be highly appreciated!

I hate for this to be my inaugural post, but I am currently seeking a job in the Tulsa area, and can't imagine a group of better connected individuals to solicit help from!

I am currently located in Lexington, Kentucky but both my wife and I want to move back to Tulsa to continue our careers and begin a family. After completing my MBA, I have spent the past two years in the marketing department of a biotech firm. I enjoy marketing, but would also wouldn't mind exploring other options within business.

Any help would be appreciated as I have found networking from 12 hours east of Tulsa to be quite difficult. I plan to relocate back to Tulsa as soon as I get a job in the area, and even though Tulsa has shown to be quite resilient to the current economic climate, I know that will take some time. I love Tulsa and the people there and truly cannot wait to move back and become an active member of the community!

Thanks again. I am glad I finally pulled the trigger and became apart of the speaking contingent of the board!

Does your university have a local Tulsa chapter? If so, you might also consider seeing if they have any leads.  :)

The University of Tulsa, the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, Oral Roberts, Roger's State University, Langston State University, Northeastern State University and probably a few I'm missing all have campuses around Tulsa (damn, why didn't we get one decent 4 year State  school?).  In addition to Tulsa Community College, University of Phoenix, and smaller associates programs.

Very frequently Universities will share their career services departments with a reciprocating University.   If a UK (wherever you want) student wants a job in Tulsa the U of Tulsa will help if the UK will help a Tulsa kid find a job in Lexington.   I'm not sure what the particular arrangements may be, but certainly it would be a way of networking yourself into things.

Also, Jacobi Kelley is a head hunter service that is respected in the area.  You could contact them to see if they are interested in marketing you.

I have no marketing positions in mind nor am I connected to anyone that is in a position to hire an MBA, but I hope the above helps.  Best of luck!
