SoChey's closed - looking for renter

I was talking to one of the owners of SoCheys the other day, and she said they had to close it down.  Sounds like they were having management problems.

I think that if you don't personally manage your own restaurant, it can be hard to make it work.  (This is what I've always heard from restaurant owners: you have to personally oversee it, and be there every hour of the day to really supervise what's going on to make it profitable.)

In any case, it's a fabulous venue with cool ambiance.  Reminds me of restaurants in Chicago or DC...where you go down half a flight of stairs to get to the bar/restaurant.

I probably ate there more when it was Pomodori's, just b/c that was my favorite Italian restaurant in town.  But I was sad, b/c I was planning to go see Annie Ellicott there just last week, and didn't make it.  Now it's too late.  Still, the location near the area is a prime spot.  And the building is distinctive and cool.

I think they're looking to rent it out, if any other budding restaurateurs are in the market...

Given its location, I imagine something will flourish there. It's a shame they had to close, I never tried it.

Exit 6C and The Music Hall? are out too.....Saeger found someone else that will replace them. Too bad. Teegarden and Martinson were whipping the place back into shape. These things take many years to cultivate. A willing landlord might be more patient....the Exit 6c will go elsewhere outside the IDL....maybe too many tickets chasing too few dollars killed these juke joints.

Too bad.  The food was fantastic in the beginning.

THere was a menu change a while back and it's never been the same for me.

I hope the location opens again soon.

When did Exit 6C close? I was just there Saturday and was planning on going back this weekend...

Soon they will be out of there....look for a new location in June....

Encourage them to take over The Collective. I'd love to have electronic music closer to my house.  :P

I'm blown away by both of these. So, the whole First Street Music Hall (Exit 6C, Blank Slate & Capellas) or just 6C? At least there are apparently already plans to get something else in there.

I went by Exit 6C early this evening and it looked like they were setting up in there, looked pretty open to me..anybody have latest buzz on it?  I too am sorry to hear about Sochey's. I too had not been there, I know my daughter and son in law had been there in the past and enjoyed it.  Hope someone is able to get in there, with the special taxation on business near the new ballfield, a new start up will have a rough time..anybody have crystal clear notion of  what is up with that business tax, I may be talking total nonsense (not the first time) but this puts me into a rant, I realize the notion of if its built they will come - but this is not a movie!, jeez this is just nuts. I think the small time business person will be run over by either Norton's cabal at DTU or corporate guys will gut our city of the small businessman. This ballfield stuff is just nonsense, Jenks coulda had it after all its still Tulsa County, if they wanted to pony up the cash go for it..Once again like a lot of other cities the taxpayer pays for a sports team..hmmm sports teams are a business, so why should residents kow tow to them and subsidize them, they have perfectly great field now. Taxpayers are paying for it and not reaping a tangible reward - not really creating new permanent employment (afterall it is still only a game). There my be a spike in tax revenues during home games but nothing real steady - will there be plans to utilize it during the off season? probably not as we already have BOK, outdoor concerts probably on west bank of the river, after all it is still a minor league franchise not the Cardinals. City Hall has such bright ideas, this will be just another Great Plains Airlines fiasco without  the FAA investigation when Susan Savage was at the helm of our fair city. Once again city  hall has their hand out with no regard to the rate payer...and  I am a Democrat! OK rant done.

SoChey's assessment for the ballpark would have been less than a dollar a day. I am sure it didn't have a marginal effect on their decision to close.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Just saw SoChey on the news about two weeks ago.  Seemed like it was booming?

Its probably only booming right now when there are events.

In this economy, lots of eateries are biting the dust.
