"I have a chief of staff and a personal assistant, and everyone needs that." -Michelle Obama

She's a piker.  I've got a chief of staff and three personal assistants.

She's right, but where's my chief of staff? Elitist.

I guess that makes Laura Bush an elitist also.  Her chief of staff was Anita McBride and her press secretary was Sally McDonough.

Guido, your trying to make something of nothing new.

That's not the point. If Laura Bush would have SAID that, she would have been crucified in the press. Kinda like if Laura Bush had worn $540 shoes while helping out with the poor:

Do you not remember how villified McCain and his wife were because of the cost of their clothes? How about Palin and the $150K worth of clothes she wore during the campaign. These folks were "out of touch". But oh no, when the Obamas do the exact same thing, and then some, crickets.

Rant over, I have got to buy some arugula and get a burger with dijon mustard on it.

She's difficult to defend.  Even her backers complained about the $150,000 in election funds spent on clothes.

The only persons Palinizing her is her and her family.  Watching them is cringe inducing.

Her daughter said the best way to keep from having sex is abstinence...yup, worked for her.

No way we should talk about anything else...just don't have sex...that'll work well.  Yup, sure will.

Anyway, apparently Palin should've had a tighter reign on what was released to the press about spending.

Somehow I don't think Laura Bush shopped at Old Navy, she is a rich Texas girl.  As to wearing $500 dollar shoes, I would bet she has more than one pair.  Is there a prescribed dress code a First Lady has to adhere to when she is doing charity work?   The press did not obsess over every little thing Mrs Bush did nor wore.  They were a lot kinder to her.   About the only time I remember reading anything about what Mrs Bush wore was her inaugural gowns.

The right wing press is struggling too hard to find things about this First Lady to smear her with.

So how was that burger?  I hate catsup and do not put it on my burger or fries.  Mostly it is too sweet.   My ham sandwich was pretty tasty.
