The following Oklahoma dealers were not so lucky:

  • Ballard's of Clinton (Clinton, OK)
  • Eddie Cordes Jeep-Eagle-Dodge (Lawton, OK)
  • Fenton Motors of Stillwater (Stillwater, OK)
  • Janzen Jeep (Enid, OK)
  • Jensen's (Fairview, OK)
  • Crossroads Superstore (Atoka, OK)
  • John Thomas Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep (Cordell, OK)
  • Milo Gordon Chrysler (Lawton, OK)
  • Oakley Jeep (Bartlesville, OK)
  • Reynolds Autogroup (Durant, OK)
  • Williams Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep (Stigler, OK)
  • Wilson Jeep Eagle (Stillwater, OK)

Good for our local business owners, but sad for those who are affected.

It's a shame both Stillwater dealers had to go. :(

I fully understand eliminating redundant dealerships. How many do we have in Tulsa and its suburbs?

But canning dealers in small (and not so small) towns across America? That doesn't seem like good business, especially if competing makes continue to have dealers in said small towns.

Yes, Honda and Toyota dealers may individually sell more cars, but that's a meaningless statistic. They have very few dealers compared to the US manufacturers.

What would have made more sense would be consolidation of Chrysler brands to a single dealer in small towns. No more Dodge across the street from Chrysler in a town of 10,000 people.

If there was an issue with the allocation of dealer support such that low-volume dealers were getting more benefit from marketing support or whatever, that should have been realigned.
