He is only 61. He has got at least six more years in him.

I won't support him. I know a crazy when I see one (kettle-pot).
Power is nothing till you use it.

Whil I won't dispute his mental state, I do really like having 1 person in congress fighting pork.

While I do not believe everybody should be able to have bazooka's or tanks at their house.  I do think that he is one of the few people doing what they said they were going to do in office anywhere.

Senator Coburn has proven effective and he's raised America's conscience about waste in government and the shenanigans we are paying for.  I think it's worth re-electing him for another term, especially with the run-away deficit spending that will continue for the next few years.

Agree.

If you guys watched the daily show and all the Ted Stevens yelling was all directed at Coburn.

You must be living in a different world than the rest of us. He's been utterly ineffective at even making America as a whole aware of waste in government, much less doing anything about it.

Moreover, he says stupid things on a frighteningly regular basis.

This demon might just support him because he gets along with POTUS OBAMA which is more than you can say for %70 of the republijerks.

You need to get your news somewhere other than Daily Koz, Olbermann, or Huffpo.  Being able to single-handedly hold up a bill that has provisions you don't believe in is very effective politics.  Regardless of whether or not I agree 100% with Senator Coburn, he's a budget hawk and that's an important issue with myself and millions of other Americans.

Coburn has a lot of respect from both sides of the aisle.  He may not be well-liked, but he's well-respected.

Can we keep Coburn and all agree to ditch Inhofe?

Coburn ain't so bad.  He's got that weird thing about educating the younger staff about venereal disease.  But, at least someone in DC stands up for budget issues, even if his position gets taken to some absurd ends.

Inhofe is the really bad guy.  It's a disgrace he has been re-elected so many times.

I think this will be Inhofe's last term.  Just a hunch.

Oh, so when you wrote "he's raised America's conscience about waste in government and the shenanigans we are paying for," you meant he's "able to single-handedly hold up a bill that has provisions [he doesn't] believe in."

I guess I'm the fool for responding to what you actually wrote. Not that you responded to what I wrote, either.

He may arguably be an effective obstructionist, but that doesn't mean he's done one iota to make the country as a whole aware of anything.

And as I've said before, I have no more respect for him than I do any of the other Republicans who have suddenly rediscovered their opposition to spending now that a Democrat is in the White House. In fact, he and his ilk have arguably done the most damage possible to our country, what with allowing enormous deficit spending when the economy was doing reasonably well and only now that deficit spending is actually needed do they bother to oppose it. They are completely at odds with economics.

I guess that makes sense, as most Republican Congresspeople are also completely at odds with physical science.

I do agree that Inhofe is the greater threat to rational thinking in Congress. Coburn does at least have the budget hawk thing going for him, after all.
