FOTD

FOTD is wondering weather change is coming to America because of those Dim Senaturds.....

Looks like Obama has gotten plenty of movement out of the Israelis already....FOTD also told you Persians were mightily smart and determined.....those Iranians are not evil. Just their handlers are evil. Fur Shah.

Open Thread; Iran
There is however, a school of thought including the Washington Post (which has a consistent pro-Israeli line) , that suggests that Ahmadinejad, did win a landslide victory

Those election returns over there were obviously manipulated. Shenanigans is not the appropriate term as it was in Florida November 2001.

Really incredible how the brilliant TNF posters of past politics are gone and the few that remain are more focused on Dave Letterman than health care, more intent on a fly than worrying about Iran. But watch. The tiniest slip by POTUS OBAMA and they will be on him like flies on sh#t. He can repel them flies. And he's da $hit.

So far it's unclear if the opposition can maintain its momentum. I'd say that the smart money is on Ahmadinejad holding on, backed by outright force. That's why President Obama is hedging his bets, praising the rebellious students and Mousavi voters but insisting that he's ready, willing and able to talk to Ahmadinejad and Khamenei. To the continuing frustration of the neocons, Obama isn't throwing American support to the Green Revolution. And that's a good thing.

"EMERGENCY MEETING" Top Clerical Group That Can Unseat Khamenei Reportedly Summoned...

"The Very Foundation Of The Islamic Republic Is Up In The Air Right Now" . .... The procession passes through an underpass and just as there is great pleasure in honking the car horn in tunnels these many people send up an enormous cheer, echoing off the walls. From dark to light the crowd emerges from the underpass and looks back to see what they have done. There is above them stretching across the tunnel a dissonant sight, a sign with the visage and message of the Supreme Leader. He watches over this protest in the manner of TJ Eckelberg..."

Where are you Huffington Post haters?....this is great news reporting. And perhaps, the greatest contribution ever made on behalf of the CIA.

Disinformation and hyperbole....... oh, what to believe?

The CIA better find a different "cheer."

RUF, even the soccer team was showing solidarity.
This really could be the first technological revolution. Doubtful. History shows fascists are hard to topple.
It's getting stranger...let's get on with the weekend show! Place your bets. Mines on the fascists in power, unfortunately. Prefer the Persian influence over the Mullahs .

There is no amount of treacherous dealing and spoiling that will prevail against Iran before the time, in the sight of them who are desirous.  The powers that be in our own nation who reign over the kings of the earth (where the whore sitteth: see Rev. 17) are not the final dominion: the Holy Scriptures have it that the power of Alexander of Grecia (who prevailed unto modern-day Iran) will be broke up until "the latter time of their kingdom" (Daniel 8:23) when the fulness of the transgressors is come.  And even when that power comes, there will be some distinguished as part of the global Gog-Magog alliance, as Persia is listed in Ezekiel 38:5.

Another insight into Iran is the word about ancient Elam.  Isaiah the prophet called them to their feet for a new shift (Is.21:3), and they bare the quiver and chariots even unto the gates of the city of David (Is.22:6), and the bow was the chief of their might (Jer.49:35).  While they shall bear their judgement, yet the Lord will bring their remnant and captivity in the last days (Jer.49:39).

It would be nice to see the same mind as was in Ahasuerus, who reigned in Shushan by the Tigris, whose dominion went from India to Ethiopia:

Esther 1:22

QuoteFor he sent letters into all the king's provinces, into every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language, that every man should bear rule in his own house, and that it should be published according to the language of every people.

What? Really? You go on and on and on about how you are the only one really getting this issue and how no one wants to play with you and when someone does your brilliant response is what? Thanks for the cartoons and vid, though, and for actually giving a rat's a$$ about the situation.

The prob as I see it is the Shi'ia 'denomination' of Islam has been taken over by a radical splinter group which is as racist and self-obsessed as any group can be.  They - the splinter sect of Shi'ia, not Shi-ia itself - are the equivalent of the Westboro Baptist group taking over the SBC in a theocratic government.

You obviously don't pay enough attention around here.  FOTD is replying to the excessive use of the quoted scripture, because, if I read right, FOTD is an atheist or agnostic or both.  While I'm not an atheist, I would tend to agree with him.

I am certainly not as up on my 'Understanding FOTD 101' as you are!  The Holy Bible is the single most intact piece of ancient historical understanding that we have, warts and all.  '-1'? Ok. Right on! Nice discussion!

No, this devil gets it just fine.

A part of the long-term goal of our Iraq policy is becoming clearer.   "War for oil" and "war criminal" nutbags will never appreciate the importance of stabilizing the entire region.  Can you imagine if we were needing to worry about Uncle Saddam AND coming unrest in Iran at the same time?  Cinch up your seat belt a little tighter, we're about to hit a huge pocket of turbulence.  Call former VP Cheney a war criminal sociopath or whatever you like, there's a lot about our national security polices of the last 8 years that were proactive.

From the tinfoil hat gov't conspiracy stand-point that's getting bounced around: now we can argue that stirring the pot in the middle east is being done to drive up oil prices out of fear again to justify the inefficiencies of bio-fuels.

Anyone curious to know why a nitrogen plant which was shuttered nine years ago has gotten around $25mm from the gov't to re-open?  Corn takes a lot of nitrogen fertilizer.  Oil prices must rise to make the biofuel industry viable.  It will still be inefficient as hell, but with Dims in total control of DC it's payback time.  Biodiesel and ethanol are far from dead.  Should have never sold the corn farm in Nebraska.

How's that for thread hi-jack?

Our international policy is the sole product of the Council on Foreign Relations.  There is no end to the imperial ambitions of the CFR once we lower the bar to allow for occupying nations.  Pakistan is an Islamic state which has the bomb and is quite bellicose toward India but we do not invade it.  Mexico is on the verge of collapse but we do not invade it.  All we are doing is being the mercenary state for an international clique who want to reestablish the Pax Romana.
