When Uriah Heep played Tulsa, the lead singer wore platform boots that were about 12" tall.  Like walking on stilts.  Always liked the music.  Wonder what they are doing now?  To the cloud!!!

QuoteA top North Carolina Democratic Party official has reportedly been identified as the accused perpetrator in a sexual harassment claim made by a former staffer.

Jay Parmley, North Carolina's Democratic Party executive director, has been accused of sexual harassment by Adriadn Ortega, a former communications staffer for the state party, according to a report by the J.W.P. Civitas Institute.

An email chain The Daily Caller previously obtained didn't name the alleged perpetrator or the victim, but confirmed the existence of the alleged sexual harassment, a financial settlement paid to the victim and that Parmley and the victim had signed non-disclosure agreements. Civitas has since reported the names of those involved.

On his Twitter account, Parmley describes himself as an "all around good guy and a Democrat!"

Not sure if the recent Secret Service prostitute scandal merits its own thread yet, but it at least merits this:

I've ripped that one off.

Classic. Another demented false equivalency although non applicable to the seriousness of this thread.  ;)

Well, at least we know those right wing christian conservatives wouldn't do anything like that!

QuoteRepublican Louisiana Sen. David Vitter lashed out at a CNN host on Monday for asking if there were similarities between his prostitution scandal and the infidelities of Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.

"Newt Gingrich has been suffering some heat over his cheating on his first wife, cheating on his second wife with his third wife," CNN's Ashleigh Banfield reminded Vitter. "And you have also suffered heat in your political career as well back in 2007, admitting to having made call some calls to an alleged prostitution operation."

"You did very well when you ran for re-election in 2010," she continued. "In fact, if I look at the numbers, I think you trounced your opponent by, what, 19 points or something like that? You seemed to manage that baggage very well. I want you to weigh in on Newt Gingrich's baggage and handling that baggage, and what it is like for a politician who has some serious baggage trying to be elected."

"Ashleigh, the good news is, in America, it's not up to CNN," Vitter shot back. "It's up to American people and it's up to voters. That was the case in my election in 2010. That's going to be the case in this presidential election."

"Well, I appreciate that you say it's not up to CNN," Banfield replied. "But I like to say we're the messenger here and one of the messages that you gave was this quotation about your incident and you said, 'This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible.'"

"You're personally, in my opinion, outdoing King, but go for it -- John King, but go for it," Vitter said, in reference to a recent debate where CNN moderator John King asked Gingrich about allegations that he had asked his second wife for an "open marriage" so that he could carry on an affair.

"I'm not trying to outdo anyone, sir," Banfield told Vitter. "I am trying to hold you accountable for the things you did. ... What I'm asking you is -- can you compare the difficulties that you struggled with to what Newt Gingrich is struggling with?"

"No, I can't," Vitter grumbled.

"I appreciate greatly, not only you getting up early and coming in to speak to me, but also equating me with John King, because I think he's pretty great," Banfield said, concluding the interview.

This one is great too:

QuoteSen. Vitter's Diaper Fetish and Another Republican Caught Solicting Sex...From a Man in a Toilet

This Vitter thing just doesn't want to go away. One of the Madams he was working with to procure women for him says he should be prosecuted (it is true that what he was doing actually is a crime) while another Madam says he "wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary" with her girls over the years (except that he was into a diaper fetish, just like Holy Joe).

The whole thing is certainly an embarrassment for the Louisiana Family Values Republican Party. Mike Cromartie a far right wing former chairman of the Commission on International Religious Freedom isn't taking this as lightly as Vitter's political cronies-- who all say, basically, "Well, if God has forgiven him, who am I to hold a grudge?" Cromartie's comment today was more in touch with a less forgiving branch of religionists: "It's the hypocrisy that people can't stand. It's not the fact that people are frail and given to sinful behavior. It's when they try to pretend to be morally upright and end up being self-righteous because they preach one thing and live another."

Preacher and GOP presidential contender Governor Mike Huckabee doesn't seem too proud to have Vitter's hypocrisy making a statement about GOP phony-baloneys either. "Many of us became a part of the Republican Party so that we could find a home for traditional beliefs regarding marriage and family and the sanctity of human life. If those things really don't exist in the party, then we have to ask, 'Why are we here?'"

One guy who is really embarrassed is Vitter's political protégé, Bobby Jindal, who has Vitter's old congressional seat and is currently running for governor of Louisiana. Jindal is in the same awkward position of so many Louisiana Republicans-- Vitter included-- who have been clamoring for William Jefferson to step down. Will they hold Vitter to the same standards?

The local papers seem filled with despair about the cesspool-like politics of the Bayou State. In Alexandria Town Talk summed it all up: "We've got a Democratic congressman caught with $90,000 in cash in his freezer and facing federal bribery charges, and a Republican senator caught with his pants down and facing a wife who... compared herself to the knife-wielding, libido-snipping Lorena Bobbitt. Welcome to Louisiana."

Meanwhile, up the road apiece the Republicans are having another sex scandal. This time it's Florida State Rep. Robert Allen of Merritt Island. The 48 year old Republican Representative was arrested today on second degree misdemeanor charges for solicitation for prostitution. And the twist is that he's a married many and was asking an undercover cop in a men's room if he could pay him to give him a blowjob. It's so GOP!

Isn't Vitter still in the Senate?

At least the Obama administration cleans up their messes.

Secret service agents immediately sent home.

David Vitter overwhelmingly reelected to Senate seat.

Seems about right (wing).

The head of the secret service and most of the team in trouble were all appointed by Prez Shrub....Republicans/Teabaggers would be dumb to try and make this a partisan issue...Potus Obama kept Gorge Bushwackie's secret service team in place to protect him.

But don't underestimate Republicans when it comes to dumb.

I just love what the Secret Service did to Ted who supports Romney....called him in for a visit. Now Guido, you and your ilk will claim it's a slap on the hand. But what if they tell him he'll be an accessory to a crime should someone go nuts take some shots.

Why are republicans so irresponsible?

This stuff goes back at least to the time of the most famous cross-dresser of all time (no, not Divine!) - J. Edger Hoover.  This episode sounds like his influence has set the tone for Federal law enforcement in the US since the '30s....

Has anyone noted during all this that these guys have actually broken no laws - haven't heard enough yet to know?  This stuff is legal in Columbia.  Of course, there IS that pesky code of conduct they promise to adhere to....
