Gibbs is a babbling buffoon during this presser. Obama pledged he would not raise taxes on those making less that $250K. Looks like that is no longer the case?

Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

Saw this coming a year ago.  I want to hear all about this conditional fibbing from the usual President Obama knee-pad sycophant crowd.

I'm not out to hang him out to dry.  Clearly he has lots of time and in some instances "changing your mind" is a virtue.  He does have better information now and presumably can see the big picture.  But these are the campaign things I can think of that have dropped off the radar:

1) Troop withdrawal from Iraq

2) Gays in the military

3) 5 days of public comment on full bills before a vote

4) Recognize the Armenian genocide (the date passed with no action, as always)

5) Reduce or eliminate earmarks

6) Repeal the defense of marriage act (no action, gay rights groups are pissed)

7) Not raising taxes on families making less than $250K

"President Barack Obama has said all combat troops will be gone by the end of August 2010."

I believe that's another conditional fib, uh, mis-statement.  What will they become instead of "combat" troops?  "Advisors"?

Trogdor, they are pulling troops out of the cities.  They are not leaving the country.  We will have 100,000+ troops there until at least 2011.   A full withdrawal within his first year was promised.

I want to see the troops out, but I think his current plan (following the Bush plan) is well conceived.  So I don't hold it against him.  But it is a campaign promise that he has changed his mind on.

Throw in use of signing statements, military tribunals for detainees, indefinite detention of detainees, rendition, no lobbyists in his administration...
