And your buddy Frankensenator sure made himself look all academic and Senatorial by sticking a finger in the eye of a serious hearing by quizzing a SCOTUS appointee about Perry frakking Mason.

Another whacko diversion from the real story here.

Besides, Franken was not the Senator that brought the Mason subject up. He was being funny in an honest manner.

Sex on C Street: GOP Rep Slept With Mistress in Christianist Enclave

http://www.pensitoreview.com/2009/07/17/sex-on-c-street-pickering-slept-with-mistress-in-house/

The latest bombshell about the congressional Christianists' residence and meeting house on Washington's C Street comes in the form of a lawsuit in which the soon-to-be ex-wife of former Rep. Chip Pickering (R-Miss.) is suing his alleged longtime mistress, Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd, for alienation of affection.

Rep. Pickering bunked at the C Street house when he served in Congress and Leisha Pickering alleges that Chip and Elizabeth were intimate in the C Street house — which, by the way, is listed in tax records as a church.

If you are keeping score, Pickering the third philandering Christian extremist politician connected with the C Street house to be outed as an adulterer in the last few weeks. The others are Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) and Gov. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.). Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), who is also a C Street resident, has also been mentioned in the scandals. It was allegedly he who counseled Ensign to arrange payments to the family of Ensign's former mistress.

These Christians better hope that it's all bullsh!t, you know, the Heaven and Hell thing, smiting sinners and stuff, 'cause they got some issues.

This has little to  do with Jesus and plenty to do with deceiving voters into believing their candidate is superior because of his family and faith. Tom Coburn proved himself to be a racist or an idiot this week....perhaps both.
He showed poor taste in the Sotomayor hearings. He's pathetic.

So many Republican hypocrites, so little time.

I think he was pathetic but for an entirely different reason! He should have heaped faint praise on her record on the bench and been the lion on the Judicial Committee he was supposed to be.  He should have told her straight up that he trusts her judgment as far as he can throw her, and that there was no way come hell or high water he would vote for her.  That he would sooner have a tattoo of Margaret Sanger on his buttocks than see her on the SCOTUS for the rest of her life.

So Coburn is essentially a pimp and the 'C' house is a den of vipers and adulterers! They have turned the church into a whorehouse! CESSPOOL! NOW TO JAIL!  But hey you Christians, now you be the nice sheep and do not raise a bleet 'cuz the Lord wants you to be pushovers for bullies and tyrants!  Shhhhhhh!  Our Blessed Lord wants you to be pansies walking around on cotton candy clouds with angels flittering in your eyes at all times!  'Touch not my annointed' and all, right?  WAKE UP!  GET FIRED UP! DO NOT BE BULLIED INTO SUBMISSION BY COWARDS AND SCOFFERS!  FIGHT! FIGHT!

More trying times for Coburn's cult....

The low-key author, Jeff Sharlet, of "The Family:The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power" is a credible chronicler of this cabal that is like a dagger in democracy.  He writes: http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2009/07/21/c_street/

"Family leaders consider their political network to be Christ's avant garde, an elite that transcends not just conventional morality but also earthly laws regulating lobbying. In the Family's early days, they debated registering as "a lobby for God's Kingdom." Instead, founder Abraham Vereide decided that the group could be more effective by working personally with politicians. "The more invisible you can make your organization," Vereide's successor, current leader Doug Coe preaches, "the more influence you can have." That's true -- which is why we have laws requiring lobbyists to identify themselves as such.

But David Coe, Doug Coe's son and heir apparent, calls himself simply a friend to men such as John Ensign, whom he guided through the coverup of his affair. I met the younger Coe when I lived for several weeks as a member of the Family. He's a surprising source of counsel, spiritual or otherwise. Attempting to explain what it means to be chosen for leadership like King David was -- or Mark Sanford, according to his own estimate -- he asked a young man who'd put himself, body and soul, under the Family's authority, "Let's say I hear you raped three little girls. What would I think of you?" The man guessed that Coe would probably think that he was a monster. "No," answered Coe, "I wouldn't." Why? Because, as a member of the Family, he's among what Family leaders refer to as the "new chosen." If you're chosen, the normal rules don't apply. "

Yes, you read that right, the son of Doug Coe, the "spiritual leader" of the Family and his heir apparent, would consider a Family member raping a child a test of the member's choseness and to be resolved inside of the fellowship, without reporting it to the law authorities, it appears.

This is how dangerous they are. They apparently believe even child rape is something that God wants them to keep secret amongst themselves!

Non of you wingnuts from Dumbf@#kistan care to comment on Coburn's cult?

Conan71

Rachel is starting to sound like Art Bell.  Nothing to comment on with this story other that she's rapidly approaching wingnut status.  A US Senator and his cult.  That's rich.  What's next?  UFO's?

So, you don't think she's on to something big here between politics and religion, the law and the lawless, the moral and immoral, the righteous and the sinner? You have no problem with elected officials bypassing the tax code? You think your Senator's religious beliefs come before the nation and its law? You believe in using a religious cult to hide the truth and to manipulate legislation?

Why do your posts sound like Pinocchio complaining about liars?

The founding fathers would think you are a red coat imbecile.

You sound logical up to this point:

You believe in using a religious cult to hide the truth and to manipulate legislation?

Listen to Art Bell much?

You prefer a theocracy not our democracy? (that is rhetorical) You support a secret society of religious fanaticism participating in our legislature while hiding behind an elitist tax evasion frat house?

Here's something for your packet of kool aid.

OMD! You will just cringe watching Maddow (tea bagging queen?) disect Inhofe and Coburn for using tax payer subsidies and tax deductions for their (or Jeebus') own good glory. Inhofe looks like more of a doofus than ever...both he and Coburn have Coe's hand up their a$$.

Evidence why Oklahoma is the nation's whipping boy. Nobody intelligent wants to have to move here.

Will post the you tube play but here is a link....look for the pic of Senaturd Malarkey and hit his picture to see this alarming story!

No UFO's here people.  Here is the author of 'The Family,' who actually spent a lot of time - what, a year - researching the issue http://jeffsharlet.com/.  He heard - in the first person - the leader of the group praising Pol Pot, Hitler, Mao.  We should not tolerate any of our elected representatives from belonging to this group.

waterboy

These are creepy people Inhofe is bunking with. I would recommend watching the entire video if possible. Interesting that he mentioned he didn't visit foreign countries as a Christian, but as a follower of Jesus. Nice faceslap to Christians. I wonder how all those supporters of his feel about that since they assert we are a Christian nation based on Christian fundamentals?

I would have preferred that he visited them as a representative of our country and the many faiths that make up our democracy, especially since we paid for the trip.

FOTD

Very damaging. His letters on behalf of citizens of Oklahoma will get nowhere. He's worse than a lame duck....more like an ignored f#$k.

The country watches with amusement....even the Tulsa World questions this man and sees his lack of Statesmanship. http://www.tulsaworld.com/opinion/article.aspx?subjectid=61&articleid=20090729_61_A16_Conspi113177
