Gosh, I hope no one is upset that I am carrying on this conversation without any responses to my last post.  But do you understand that 'this guy' who seems to prefer draconian population control measures is now in charge of the White House's science initiatives? And his co-conspirators/authors were Bush's White House science advisors?  And the 'book' is a text book for the highest levels of academia, not just some 'blog' or essay!  These wicked people actually have a plan for mass-sterilization, state-run forced abortions, and if those measures do not do the trick what do you think they will do?

Here is something interesting: 'A priest, president of Human Life International (HLI) based in Maryland, has asked Congress to investigate reports of women in some developing countries unknowingly receiving a tetanus vaccine laced with the anti-fertility drug human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). If it is true, he wants Congress to publicly condemn the mass vaccinations and to cut off funding to UN agencies and other involved organizations. The natural hormone hCG is needed to maintain pregnancy. The hormone would produce antibodies against hCG to prevent pregnancy. In the fall of 1994, the Pro Life Committee of Mexico was suspicious of the protocols for the tetanus toxoid campaign because they excluded all males and children and called for multiple injections of the vaccine in only women of reproductive age. Yet, one injection provides protection for at least 10 years. The Committee had vials of the tetanus vaccine analyzed for hCG. It informed HLI about the tetanus toxoid vaccine. HLI then told its World Council members and HLI affiliates in more than 60 countries. Similar tetanus vaccines laced with hCG have been uncovered in the Philippines and in Nicaragua. In addition to the World Health Organization (WHO), other organizations involved in the development of an anti-fertility vaccine using hCG include the UN Population Fund, the UN Development Programme, the World Bank, the Population Council, the Rockefeller Foundation, the US National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and Uppsala, Helsinki, and Ohio State universities. The priest objects that, if indeed the purpose of the mass vaccinations is to prevent pregnancies, women are uninformed, unsuspecting, and unconsenting victims.' [emph mine]

The UN gets caught red-handed using its mechanisms for non-consensual sterilization, but if you say one word about 'eugenics' you are called a raving lunatic!  Last month a secret meeting of billionaires met to talk about population control.  Knowing that the Gates Foundation is a big proponent of vaccinations - and that Gates' father is a huge force in Planned Parenthood - is it not irrational to not ask questions and be concerned?

I have two coins in my pocket that total 35 cents and one of them is not a dime. What are the two coins?

A quarter and a dime.

Finally, a post to which I wanted to reply.

Excellent!

I can ask 100 people that question and 75% of them will be confused and unable to answer. They are misled by the question and their minds visualize things as a closed set. To them, if one is not a dime then the equation must be unsolvable.

Some are not able to comprehend the answer even after I give it to them! A month later I can ask them the same question and they remain bemused. Others catch on quickly and hopefully it gives them some insight as to how their mind works, the self imposed limitations to their thinking and how people use those limitations to manipulate them. We're all subject to those limitations in some way.

Another question. What is the most compelling reason hunters continue to kill deer when food is no longer scarce?

Mr. Tim?? Don't be shy, its not a trick question.

I know I am taking this way off topic, but we are already into eugenics, the new world order and pocket change, so here we go:

Tim,

You obviously aren't married and never have been.  Here's an interesting fact, do you know the percentage of pregnancies that the woman's body itself aborts?

50%.

Think on that. 50% of all pregnancies end in an aborted fetus with no medical intervention at all. That dwarfs the 22% of pregnancies that end in a selective abortion. If every fetus is a child, why aren't we spending billions upon billion on solving the leading cause of child death in the world, miscarriage? Where are the protestors and vigils and charitable organizations demanding that we put more dollars into medical research to end this tragedy?

This really should be a new topic. No one is interested in a conversation about Medlock, Bartlett and a New Yorker. I have to go to work though.

I hope Tim is not like SauerKraut and simply keeps repeating the thinking of others even when it is repudiated. Tim, who pioneered the bumper sticker, "Get Us Out of the UN!" ? And why?

tim huntzinger

Repudiated? Where? What exactly are you talking about? The radical social theories of leftist elitists have been repudiated, not common-sense folk who know what 'words' mean.

Not married? Swake, you have proved once again who the real know-nothing is! I will be sure to pass this on to 'Dubya!' Ha ha ha! You must wear a tin foil hat! What a conspiracist! Scooby Doo time!

More quotes from anti-human eugenists:

"In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it's just as bad not to say it." - Jacques Cousteau

"The world has a cancer, and that cancer is man." - Merton Lambert, former spokesman for the Rockefeller foundation

"...The first task is population control at home. How do we go about it? Many of my colleagues feel that some sort of compulsory birth regulation would be necessary to achieve such control. One plan often mentioned involves the addition of temporary sterilants to water supplies or staple food. Doses of the antidote would be carefully rationed by the government to produce the desired population size." - Paul Ehrlich, The Population Bomb, p.130-131

"If I were reincarnated I would wish to be returned to earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels."  - Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, leader of the World Wildlife Fund - quoted in "Are You Ready For Our New Age Future?," Insiders Report, American Policy Center, December '95

"A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal."  - Ted Turner - CNN founder and UN supporter - quoted in the McAlvany Intelligence Advisor, June '96

"Even though it is quite true that any radical eugenic policy will be for many years politically and psychologically impossible, it will be important for UNESCO to see that the eugenic problem is examined with the greatest care, and that the public mind is informed of the issues at stake so that much that now is unthinkable may at least become thinkable." - Sir Julian Huxley, first director general of UNESCO (1946-1948)

These people aren't talking about eugenics, they are talking about overpopulation.

While I don't totally agree that we will never be able to sustain a population of almost seven billion people, it is completely true that with current technology and resources we cannot properly sustain the world's current population. Much less sustain current population growth or have even a majority of the world's people live at a 1st world level. We have more people today than we can take care at even a basic level and the world is growing, and growing in all the wrong places.

More than 3 billion of the world's 6.6 billion people live in poverty, more than 800 million are malnourished. The developed world that you live in only has 1.2 billion people and that 1.2 billion includes for instance 36 million people in the United States alone who are food insecure.

The people in the third (and second) world want everything that we in the first world enjoy. And they outnumber us, by a lot. What do you think the "war on terror" is really about? It's all third world hunger, anger and envy, and it's only going to get worse as the third world grows and becomes more and more desperate. Al Queda and the Taliban just tap into the anger. Did you read the quotes yesterday from the confession of the Mumbai gunman about why he did it? It wasn't for Allah. It was because he was poor.

It's not eugenics these people you are quoting are talking about, it's about lifting the world out of poverty and hunger. Today the majority of the world's people live a very painful life, to solve that we need more resources and better technology and yes, probably fewer people.

Tim, you blockhead. You don't answer my questions, why would I dignify yours? Like most tin hats, you know you're right, its just communicating the troof to all us heathen sheep. Baaaaa.

tim huntzinger

H20 I do not know about all that, but to suggest it is delusional to take the very powerful and educated at their words is in itself a little delusional.  Fox News is covering the Holdren scandal, but that they did not mention the co-authors of The Book's relationship to the Bush White House.  To pooh-pooh the radical measures taught in the text book is akin to electing Gary Bauer President, and then discovering that his science adviser suggested rounding up homosexuals for re-education, and if that does not work to kill them, because we need to protect the breeders from such influences.  Not much difference.  Except the reaction.

This guy - Holdren - needs to be set on an island somewhere far, far away from civilization, not elevated to the most powerful science position in government.  If Bartlett is going to hire from the same group of social work Nanny Staters that Adelson will, he should be kept far, far away from City Hall.

waterboy

One wonders how familiar you are with upper education. Using terms like radical, taught and textbooks in a perjorative manner seems strange to me. I read (actually scanned) The Population Bomb back in 1971 as part of a speech assignment. We actually criticized its conclusions but did in fact find it "radical", provocative thinking. Some people thought it was "the" answer to the world's problems, some thought it a fantasy solutions type of book. Now its being used as a political career breaker. Strange.

So, I guess being exposed to new, radical thinking is in your mind being "taught". That means we cannot really understand each other.
