Something's up, he quit a year early in his first term in the Senate.  Think he's going fishing with the former Alaska governor?

Well if we're disbanding, I'd like to know.

Cats Cats Cats

It is part of the new political office plan.  If you watched the daily show you would already know about this.

Note: This part of the show was following about 2 minutes of fox news saying that if Obama doesn't get his health care bill passed in 6 months his Presidency is over.

The first shot fired on the good and kind because of you types need to be hauled in for accessory to a crime.... the government missed on Tiller the killer.

You misfit. We will hook it up with hate. Condemn this behavior or be a co conspirator.

Besides all that, what caused this later gator? Again, check in at C Street with your fellow creations or see his health records that you subsidize.....you socialist.

I guess you want to be banned.  You seem to be down the same road as when you and FB would have your epic battles, with the name-hurling and the like.

Don't get me wrong; I'm no conservative.  But sometimes you are just over the top.  I grow weary of the paragraphs-long-cut-and-paste-fest.  It seems like they give you an inch (letting you back on after the software switch) and you're taking the proverbial mile.

I sense you're pushing it.

Who appointed you TNF cop? Insider? We do not see you Hoss attacking the anti Obama (health care) hate gatherings. So, it's ok for those type of storm troopers but not this kind of behavior?

Take little Joe and git.

No one appointed me TNF cop.  I'm simply making an observation while your posting privileges still exist.

I'll make an observation as well. It is boring on these threads when posters who are controversial and outspoken are banned or choose to move on. Seriously, it just dries up. I like keeping the topics Tulsa oriented though, and I try to do so.

Know Nothing drives me crazy with his viewpoints but without them I wouldn't know such craziness exists. FB made some interesting comments before he went off on deranged racist tangents. That Houston guy was even funny and insightful when he constantly slammed Tulsa. FOTD represents viewpoints similar to mine but expresses them in a much more...in-elegant manner. I suspect that he is a thorn in the side of our more conservative, independent and Libertarian posters. We should beware quieting such posters lest we end up with a single myopic view of the world.

I for one, welcome diversity in opinion when it is strongly defended and is in fact defensible.

I don't mind the opinionation, but he was removed previously for personally attacking some posters, IIRC, which is usually a big no-no on forums.  I've run several in the past, run one now, and contrary to popular belief, they are not bastions of free speech.  The First Amendment does not provide protection on teh inturwehbs...and calling someone a derogatory or defamatory name still has consequences.  My observation is that FOTD is once again going down that previous road.

If you are consistent in application of those guidelines, many TN posters will have to be removed. A short but by no means concise list of names I've been called: Unamerican, Communist, Socialist, Idiot, Moron, Fascist, Asshat, Coward, Traitor, Draft Dodger, Pile of Smile, and on and on. Some of them I don't even understand but can tell by context they are not laudatory.  :)

I do understand your point though. This forum is designed to be a positive force for Tulsa's image, its development and a sounding board for Tulsa related issues. No guarantee of free speech. Just making an observation that when you close the door on posters for one reason or another, it eventually gets boring.

That leads me to wonder if there is a place for a local forum that would attract the informed, educated and opinionated like TN does, but with different goals? A forum that would consist of our local/national-politics threads handled in a professional even handed manner. Sounds like you could start one.

The intent is to prove a point. What FOTD may be doing on this forum is deliberate, mean, belligerent, intimidating etc. Sorta like the folks who turn out to stop health care by shouting them down at democratic town halls. Where is the outrage at vilifying the democratic elected President? Instead, our Congressman and Senators fail to draw the moral line and speak out against these thereby further inflaming hatred.

You choose to condemn my antics but not those of the health care mafia and right wing minutia.

And the question is why. I have watched with interest as this forum has studiously ignored what is happening in town hall meetings around the country. Why?

It appears there is very little journalism remaining. Where is the coverage of uneventful town hall meetings? Do we have town hall meetings here that have erupted in paid for hostility? Why isn't anyone other than MSNBC questioning the process? What is happening is something worthy of more than a few remarks intimating, but not proving, that Democrats have done the same in the past. These meetings are evidence of a quiet takeover of our country having been effected by corporate entities bent on getting their way.

My wife and I are watching the process in horror of what is happening to our country. We can't even discuss health care in town hall meetings without organized chaos cancelling the effort?

The fact that no one here sees it worthy of discussion gives FOTD's actions more credibility from me than those who would silence him.

What's there to discuss?  The fact that several right-wing PACs are organizing people to go on shout-downs of any democratic representative they find?  You don't see that happening at the right wing 'town halls'.

It's all Rovian tactics, and, for lack of a better term, rat f-ing on a grass-roots/astroturf level.  If I were to talk about what I think about it, I'd be accused of being a partisan hack, but the vitriol and hate and violence I'm seeing spewed at this events disgusts me and the whole community involvement with the political process.  It's tantamount to throwing the baby out with the bathwater....
