Not sure why I'm feeling like I have to report the news, but seems important events sometimes slip through the cracks around this forum.

Tulsa County District Judge Jefferson Sellers ruled Monday that an initiative petition seeking nonpartisan city elections was invalid.

Maybe we should prosecute the petitioners, and those who attempted to leverage it illegally, like they did for those involved with the TABOR Petition.

I thought that happened a couple of weeks ago, or were they saying then it would be heard?

The nonpartisan city elections is like the cat you gave away that still keeps coming home. It was discussed in the 40's 60's before the two charter election, by the city commissioners then the city councilors.

General seems to be the word that was interpreted wrong.  Seems there is a group who want to further reduce the number of voters that participate in the city elections not withstanding the number of elective offices of the city has already been reduced.  Apathy has been exchanged for the electoral process in the city.

Today we stand in ecstasy and view that we build today'
Tomorrow we will enter into the plea to have it torn away.

It was thrown out because they figured the number of signatures wrong.

That is obviously a crime worth beheading.

At least we agree on that.

Besides just bad counting, it's a mindset that finds, applies and/or makes up rules which justify their agenda. In this case, an open attempt to subvert democracy by rigging an election which would potentially modify our form of government.

In short, an attempt to put a fast one by voters.

If that isn't the equivalent of a horse thief, I don't know what is.

Maybe beheading is a little harsh, but public hangings would suffice.

(Which makes me recall the obituary of one corrupted politician which stated "Died when the stage on which he was standing during a public ceremony, held in his honor, collapsed".)
