QuoteGOP chief scoffs at Obama winning peace prize

At least Hatch wasn't as pathetic.

I am going to pick a fight with that Nobel prize guy.

I'll admit, I think the selection was questionable, considering the short time in office when nominated, but I don't see how this is a bad thing for America.  If it helps change our image on the national stage, that's a positive.  The sniping from Michael Steele is reprehensible, can the RNC and GOP find absolutely nothing to say "atta boy" every now and then?

I'm getting so fed up with partisan politics, Steele may have just finally pushed me far enough to change my voter registration to "un-affilliated" after the November elections.

Countdown to some idiot wingnut to compare Obama's win to the brief-and-quickly-pulled nomination to Adolf Hitler. 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

I think Obama campaigned with a peace message, went to Europe and spoke about mending relationships, especially with Muslims, and has told the world that this is and will be a priority in his years as our President.

It does seem early for him to win such an honor, but I am amazed at the attacks on his award. Do they not believe in the ideals of peace, or do they just want to disparage the messenger?

Yes, it seems the award is in much part, a recognition that the last guy proudly called himself a war President. Obama is as deserving as anyone in promoting a more peaceful world.

May the light of peace shine into even the darkest of souls this day.

It's been abundantly clear for months that Steele is a stone idiot.

Hmm, after reading over their policy statement(s) my political beliefs are very close to theirs.

The sport of soccer was inexplicably nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2001, as were Bush and Blair a couple years after that....

My opinion of Obama winning pretty much mirrors this one:

Lets hope the Nobel committee people don't end up on the olympic committee, they'll be handing out medals at the Rio airport luggage pickup.
