Why bother with these threads?

So immature and unintelligent....

The original post is from 2008. Being a liberal doesn't make someone a good human being, just like being conservative doesn't mean the inverse. You should know something about that. His statement in careless defense of evil was despicable no matter his politics.

You want to back that up, or do you prefer to pretend you're the second coming of Joe McCarthy?

Is, was, whatever. Hopefully soon the Church's kiddie diddling can also be a was, so you can stop looking like a hypocrite.

You cannot even get sarcasm. Where did you go to college incidentally? I do not think you've ever told us where you got your degree from.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

I would think you'd know by now that sarcasm doesn't come across well in text.  :P

You didn't take the course "Sarcasm In The Written Word"?

I took it.  Doesn't work.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Richard W. Sears was a railroad agent in North Redwood, Minn. Upon receiving an errant box of watches, he started a business selling watches and jewelry. Alvah C. Roebuck was a watch repairman whom Sears hired as his business grew. Roebuck eventually partnered with Sears to form the foundation of Sears, Roebuck and Co.

Yep.  I read about it many years ago, so have forgotten most of what I ever knew about it....luckily there are/were libraries, and now the interwebz.

Google is your friend....

I always wondered (and definitely suspected) that by "errant" it meant he found a box of watches on a train that looked "lost", so took them home so they wouldn't be lonely until he could find a good home to sell them into?  I see that at truck stops from time to time...drivers "find" a box of DVDs, or iPods, or a tank of fuel that they are just trying to find a good home for - at half price.  There is always some kind of scam going on - and while he profited from it, I don't think he initiated it.  The picture of a guy in a long coat, opening one side to show a 'wall' of watches to a prospective customer comes to mind.
