City expenses again outpace revenue, and more cuts and re-prioritization are on the horizon.
If you had to choose between, say, having police motorcycles or police helicopters, which would you prefer, and why?

Police Helicopters cost more, plus motorcycles can be a revenue source.

From an officer's perspective, I want the helicopter up and running.  It is a great tool for catching suspects and officer safety.

However, the city's perspective would probably be the motorcycles because of the revenue they produce.

Helicopters are good if the department can't show the flag enough to keep crime down through officers on the street.

Having you guys walking a beat and keeping an eye on things is better. I doubt we can fund enough positions to keep crime low that way, though.
