WOW.  I don't feel good about this.  I would think Sully would have other things to be concerned with.

Mayor-elect Dewey Bartlett on Tuesday tapped U.S. Rep. John Sullivan to lead his transition team.

Bartlett said Sullivan will serve through his Dec. 7 inauguration.

"I've known and worked with John for nearly two decades, and under his leadership we will be able to assemble a top-notch staff to tackle our city's most pressing issues," Bartlett said.

Sullivan said that while he represents the entire First District, Tulsa is his home and wants to do what he can to help.

"Dewey has a number of difficult decision to make once he takes the oath of office in just a few weeks," Sullivan said. "Our goal is to help him be educated and prepared with a very capable staff and all the information he needs to move our city forward."

Previously announced members of the Bartlett transition team include Councilor G.T. Bynum, Tulsa County Director of Development and Government Affairs Terry Simonson, political strategist Karl Ahlgren and others

Oooh, same sex governing!  The horrors!  C-streeters and birthers! Pestulence and plague! AAAAAAAhHHHHHH!

Wow, I guess I over-reacted a little.  'scuze me.

That's plain screwy....Dewey has been assigned a handler. An Okie Rahm Emmanuel as it were.

Fodder for my canon.

Wow.  And ick.

Please tell me we (14% of Tulsa's registered voters actually voted for Bartlett) didn't just elect a puppet.

That was the expected result in voting for either partisan candidate.

Puppet? Someone's pulling on Dewey's strings. Master Inhofe?

Dern. We could have had an Obama puppet master instead of the last bastion of Nixon.

I forget.  What exactly qualifies Sullivan to help with this transition?  What does he know about running a city?  Does this mean that I can call his DC office to report pot holes and backed up storm drains?

I bet I'd get just as much response as when I contact his office to support anything progressive, environmental, or related to human rights.

Sound of dead crickets.

Do you get no response or just one you don't like?  Just asking.

Dead crickets crunch when you step on them.

Give the guy a chance with his medical problems.  At least he has tried to address them.  Politics can be another issue.

Trust me, I will give him a chance, but bet he falls off the wagon.  My dad tried to kick alcoholism three times before he truly did it.

My problem is that how much these politicians with the big R next their name are so quick to condemn those whom they feel are awash in sin (smoking, drinking and the like) but yet would never condemn themselves or their friends when they found out they were guilty of what they condemn.

Keep politics and politicians out of my morality.
