The Tulsa World article is sketchy.  No reasons are given for the fighting.  Could it be skinheads?  Could it be gangs?

May you live in interesting times.

SXSW

Mis-placed testosterone or domestic terrorists.

Channel 6 reported on some (but not all) and said they were gang related.

It was all gang related.  A bunch if rival gangs talking trash and fighting.  They had to call for police cars from all areas of town to break up the fights. At one point there were 42 active calls holding and no one to go to them.

Such a sad event on a day to celebrate a great man.

Thanks for the update MH2010.

It is sad indeed. Martin Luther King, Jr. was such an inspiration for non-violent action. To fight at an event honoring such a great inspirational leader is just so wrong.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Gang fights at an MLK parade?  Irony of the most depressing kind.

Also weird how most of the footage I saw was of teenage females fighting and seemed like most of those detained (on video anyway) where female (2 to 1 from the looks of it.)

Not that females aren't in gangs, just seems odd that mainly female gang members fought.

Shrugs sad people where fighting and sad said fighting is being used as a political tool to put pressure on the mayor.
Thank you,
