Gutter Installation

I'd like to get gutters installed before the rainy season sets in.  I have no guttering at all right now and its not a huge problem, but it is starting to become a maintenance issue and I don't like the run off that occurs at my entryway. Any advice? Recommendations?  I'm tempted to do it myself, but some of the downspouts may be a little tricky and it seems like seamless aluminum installation should be reasonable.

I'd be curious to know appx how much they charged and what type of guttering.  I'm looking at having rolled aluminum installed.

yeah, I did seamless aluminum.  It was less than 5 bucks a linear foot for me (including the downspouts).  I had no guttering to be removed and solid fascia to work with. They had a good color palette from a couple of manufacturers.  I was able to find a good fit.

Got no trees overhanging anymore so that won't be an issue like it used to be.

I don't know it that makes you lucky or not. 
   I'm surrounded by trees.  They're great for shade in the summer, but they sure can be messy. Pollen everywhere in the spring. Then in the fall I get leaves in the gutters and on the ground to have to rake.

Had two big ash trees (60+ feet) that were a huge pain to keep trimmed.  I decided to get rid of them right around the time the big ice storm hit in 07.  Had I not made that decision I would have had some pretty large feeder branches in my living room and den via a beeline through the roof and attic.

I do miss the shade, but don't miss the fear of branches caving in my roof.  I have filtered glass to help take care of the sun, and my home's orientation (long edge SW to NE) makes it not so susceptible to anything but the later afternoon sun.

I'll likely plant some pine trees...something that doesn't grow so much horizontally like the ash trees that were there.

Gutters are not that hard to install, but some korners can be tricky, and the down spouts can be troublesome if you never did that kind of work before. I'm surprised that many homes in Tulsa have no gutters, in other parts of the country gutters are pretty much standard equipment on homes. My house has a rut in front where rain run off from the roof carved a rut in the soil, and nearby soil washed away so after a rain I have a pool of standing water there.
