Looking at the rendering it looks like the BOK center in the top right of the picture. Are they really going to put a detention center directly next to the BOK?!? Does anyone know anything more about this?

I saw this, and if it ends up looking like the rendering people won't know it's a detention center.  It will just look like a slick government facility, similar to the new federal building in OKC or the TCC Center for Creativity (done by the same local architect, Selser Schaefer).  They even have a green roof shown, that would be really cool if they actually do one.  This appears to be along and north of the tracks north of the BOK Center, which you can see at the top right hand corner, in between Elwood and Guthrie and along and south of Archer, south of the jail.  The whole area is a scrap yard and old warehouses now so this appears to be an improvement IF it's built as shown.  And it's on a side of the BOK few people ever see.

I believe this is across the tracks at the storey wrecker property. It has long been discussed for city/county to move their court and enforcement divisions to this area and create basically a large justice area with the detention facilities being behind the police and courts buildings. County has been going back and forth between building here or adding floors to the existing courthouse.

Two things about the article I have questions about. First, is she refering to the ADC on Charles Page by the Newblock PW Yard? And second, the comment that "The Rader Center makes the current location look like Disney Land"  the Rader Center was built specifically as a juvenile center and the old ADC was just that, an Adult Detention Center. Funny how someone who was a reporter and an news anchor for years cannot remember some of the basic things in Tulsa, and in the county.

Ok, my bad, I got a better look on Google Earth and now realize that it is just north of Charles Page on Gilcrease just north of another county building.

That looks right.  There is a cool brick warehouse on Guthrie across the street.

The Court House was a very large part of the plan I saw for the area as well.
I think it sounds like a pretty good logistical fit.

I would like to see them seal the freeway underpass to the west though.

This would give Crosbie, Owen, and Easton Heights the separation needed  to form more distinctive neighborhoods. They have enough "tourist" the way things stand right now.

If this can be done as shown I am all for it, if not then I do wonder why they are showing this plan if its not what they will go with.
Thank you,

For the same reason they always show a flashy new plan, go get support.  Even if they intend on doing things exactly as planned, it seems that too often reality slaps down idealogy.

Reality what is that my friend? Either way I hope plenty of planning and forethought went into this plan and design.

Reality is that cold hard thing that life is always threatening my mental cloudscapes with.

Oh, okay, thank you for that I think I understand now. Reality is sometimes costs are more then expected or someone decides they don't want to sell there land kind of thing. Check!
