Just another parking lot?

Or a temporary solution until a building is built there.  But it's an odd location.  Yes it's next to the BOK Center but then you have office towers just to the east and the tracks/jail to the north.  It doesn't seem all that condusive to residential development but who knows if One Place ever gets off the ground and is successful.  I think it's more likely to remain surface parking for awhile and maybe eventually could be where the federal building is relocated so that eyesore Page Belcher can be demolished.
I've never seen a parking lot downtown that was temporary.

They already use that space as parking for the BOK anyway; if BOK decides to sell it, I guess that's what it would be marketed as.  I thought it would be better as part of the plan that is supposed to go in just south of it between 2nd and 3rd.

I think that would be ideal as well.  I like the idea of putting shops (with wide sidewalks and patio seating and all that good stuff), and maybe a hotel (not sure if we need another downtown yet) with a few levels of parking garage behind/under.

That would be cool.  It all depends on, first, that development getting built and, second, that development being a success.  Living next to a Cesar Pelli landmark and in the heart of downtown are sells but it's still in sort of an odd location downtown.  I've always thought something like 1001 Ross apartments in downtown Dallas (below) would be a good fit on those blocks and would be attractive for people wanting to rent new apartments with a pool downtown.

Deja Vu.

Received this today. Maybe, yet another "surface parking lot"?

Or... has anyone heard of something happening here?

They'd been talking about getting rid of that since the late nineties.  No surprise there.

Kanbar owns their building.
Was just wondering if there were plans for the ground. I assume that parcel is part of the building's deed or deeds?
