It seems a little slower, and burns battery faster.  Hopefully they will remedy this.

They fixed the approval problems and the majority of the apps rejected are done because they don't work as advertised or need fixed. Also provides unified updates. I'm pretty happy with the app store.
My problem isn't with the App Store per se, it's with their policy that I can't put whatever software I like on hardware I own, like I can with every other smartphone in existence.

Not that the approval process has been fixed at all, despite their claims. They're as arbitrary as ever, and have some asinine requirements.

Great even more pressure on an under-designed battery.  Did they improve the battery on the iPhone 4?  Is there a camera flash now or do we have to wait for iP 5 or 6 for that?

Camera Flash, better camera, HD video, larger battery, better antennas, etc.

3G or 3GS? My 3GS seems fine, but trogdor's 3G is slower.

Okay, I did the download, but I don't notice anything different about my phone, told you I'm a neanderthal!

When apps come out that support iOS4, you'll notice the ability to multitask with them.  Also, they made the mail interface different, by having a unified inbox for those that use more than one mail account.

Also, my brother said the ability to change the background image, but I haven't found where to change that yet.

same way you set the lock screen wallpaper.

Here's some explanations:

Multi-tasking and background images on screens other than the lock screen require the phone to be a 3GS

I apparently managed to kill the update prematurely, I'm re-doing it now.

Not hard to do; there were several reports of the appearance of the update locking up during the backup phase.

That apparently happened to mine.  After an hour of "backing up" staying at the same progress point, I figured it was toast.  Trying again. iTunes runs like crap on my laptop (windows-based, the last one I will own, I might add...)

Oddly enough, iTunes runs perfectly on my Windows-based PC. On my Mac, it locks up all the time.

The two days I've had it (iTunes), it runs ok.  I just hate that it feels the need to install three services on my Windows 7 machine.  It should be able to run these services on demand and not have them running in the background.

Conan, did you ever get it sorted out ok?

Conan71

Nope, it spends an hour backing up my phone...grrr.  I'll try again tomorrow.  It keeps saying I've got items purchased from the app store which have not been downloaded, which I have.  There is a pending update of my GPS app, but it can't download until the OS is updated.  I need a geek to come help me before I go postal.
