Nope, it spends an hour backing up my phone...grrr.  I'll try again tomorrow.  It keeps saying I've got items purchased from the app store which have not been downloaded, which I have.  There is a pending update of my GPS app, but it can't download until the OS is updated.  I need a geek to come help me before I go postal.

#1 problem with backup failure is app backup issues. Once you buy an app, you can re-download it for free so just delete them off your phone, let it back up, then reinstall.

Deleting apps is something else I've not figured out. Sounds like my phone needs a few hours with uncle Grizzle. Told you I'm a tech moron

Deleting apps hasn't changed and should be simple.

Press and hold the app with your finger until it shakes, then press the "x" that appears in the upper right hand corner.

We can go to lunch one day over on the east side.  I'll show ya.  I've only had mine now four days and am pretty proficient with it.  But that's because I didn't get mine online.  Purchased it from the store at 31st and Garnett and the gentleman I bought it from spent 30 minutes showing me some neat little tricks.  Sometimes buying online isn't always the best way.

I have been in line on launch day at the apple store to get each iPhone. You could say I've had a little experience with the device.

Received my new iphone 4 this morning via fedex!! Delivered about 845AM!

Went to the apple store at 10 to see if they would have any cases out, they of course did not, so I asked an employee....he told me in a rude manner "no, cases will not be available till tomorrow, the phone doesnt come out until tomorrow you know."  I said "except for me, and a few others, look..." and showed him the box.  Wasnt trying to show off, but rather just show him up.  He was rather rude and smug.

So I went outside the apple store and low and behold there is a ZAGG invisible shield kiosk there.  I asked him how much it would be for a front and back cover including sides, he told me 40 bucks.  I said lets do it.  It took about an hour or so but he did it perfectly and only charged me 30 since it took so long since that was his first time on an iphone 4.  He said tomorrow he will only be doing the fronts and backs, not sides since it takes so long.  He said he had 400 front covers and said he would have 3 additional installers there waiting tomorrow.

So far I've been pretty pleased with the 3GS; it does more than I would ever think that it would need to and the photos it takes are a damn sight better than my old Sony w580i.  Can't beat the price either.  I just couldn't fathom waiting so long for something new.  Plus, if I decide I don't like the 3GS, I can return it within 30 days.  I might or might not get the 4.

You'd be seriously impressed with a good cameraphone, then!  :P

Meh.  I've got a DSLR, so a cameraphone is not really a necessity for me.  But this one does take pretty decent pictures in good lighting.

So do I, but I find it inconvenient to lug it around everywhere I go. It's nice to be able to snap a good pic and instantly upload it to Facebook, Flickr, or whatever. I could muck around with my phone and make it work in USB host mode and do that with pics from my DSLR, but it would take more work.

Certainly if I expect to be taking pictures, I'll take the DSLR though. The low light performance is just so much better, even on my ancient model. I wouldn't be surprised if my next phone takes better pictures than my SLR, though. (look at some Nokia N86 8MP or N8 samples, it's ridiculous how good they are) That'll be a sad day. Good lenses are good.

I'm hoping Nokia's MeeGo phone has the N8's relatively humongous sensor and Xenon flash. Despite the extra pixels involved in going to 12MP, the larger sensor allows the photosites to still be larger than any camera phone thus far.

I bought an Otter Box before I left the store with my new iPhone last year.  My daughters had both broken screens before so I knew the cost of those repairs (yes they had to pay out of their own pocket for that) and I've got to say that $50 investment has saved me hundreds.  I'm very hard on phones and I can't tell you how many times mine has been dropped or inadvertently gotten wet.  Everyone else I know who has an Otter Box has been just as pleased.

The only downside is you have to make sure you get the correct car charger to fit and it will not fit in a docking station in the case.

My brother has an otter box defender (I just purchased one as well and am awaiting the shipping on it) that he wasn't real impressed with.  It protects the phone, but he complained of it falling out of the clip on a regular basis.  He emailed them; they evidently had enough complaints on this that they redesigned the clip and sent him a brand new case with clip.  That's how you keep in business, by keeping current customers happy.

Got mine on Amazon for 20 dollars!

My boss just left to head to the mall to meet up with his Wife that is standing in that huge line(and she reserved one)
What makes these people do this ?
Good lord, I can get the same thing 6 to 7 months from now with ease. Who cares if you have it first. I guess Im getting to old to care.

With ya.  They've already announced the release of the new version for next year.

+1
I have a otter box also. I love it. Accept for...........that darn holster clip. It falls out with the slightest walking. And if you put the phone in backwards, I sware you could blow it out.
Thanks for the info about them changing the design of the clip. I shall contact them also.
