So do any of you have the 4 yet? Have you noticed problems with reception or overheating? Just curious, as I've seen some reports make the rounds, and people will be asking me very shortly whether they should be upgrading. (I don't know anybody crazy enough to stand in line for one, but that doesn't mean they won't consider picking one up in the next few days!)

My boss just told me his Wife already sounds better with no static or cutting out. He said that the dead spot at their house is also gone. What do ya know. 4 hours in the pre order line paid off for them. Woo Hoo !

Appears now that it's not without its problems.

Ooops.  I guess there is some benefit to me usually being 2 or more years behind the tech curve

Me to Conan. I still have the 3G from three months ago. And I am not sure that I am going to download the new software either. Sometimes I think you can over perfect things.

After 8 hours standing in place, I have my iPhone 4.

I haven't been able to duplicate the antenna issue.

Here's more..reports of yellow screen discoloration

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37899765/ns/technology_and_science-wireless/

reports of white spotting

http://gizmodo.com/5571836/iphone-4-constellation/gallery/

They have screen issues every year. They source from so many plants that occasionally they get one with bad QA.

coming from a 3G I can say it is ALOT FASTER.  Apps load in no time, the new screen is AMAZING! It is SUPER BRIGHT and SUPER CLEAR.  Have had no problems of overheating or bad reception.  The battery lasts longer too.  Was at 99% at 1400 today, at 1800 was at 93% with moderate use.  Playing Pandora in the background for almost 45 minutes made it drop from 96-94.  Very impressed with it so far.

I'm that crazy. Everyone sold out yesterday. AT&T had no free stock, Radio Shack, Best Buy and WalMart all had very meager stock. Apple store probably sold 1,500-2,000 yesterday. AT&T will have SOME stock on Tuesday, Apple said they don't expect anything until Monday. However, those who go to the Apple store THIS MORNING may get some as anyone who had a reservation but did not show yesterday, lost the hold on their device last night.

It seems that this (the antenna issue) is not an isolated problem.  Enough people have now emailed Jobs about it that he has a form letter being sent out via email for each one.  But initially, when the website Engadget noticed the issue and contacted Jobs about it, his response was documented.

Might it help if Aram weren't radioactive, Hoss?

I think Aram doesn't wash his hands or something. Mine just keeps reading 5 bars.

Jobs is notorious for responding to something like this, but this time he should've keep his mouth shut until he had researched liability and recall issues.

I predict vouchers for free cases or protective film.

So if I'm reading it right the metal band that runs around the entire edge of the device can't be held or it trashes the reception. (for at least some people?)

Every phone with an integrated antenna has at least some spot you ought not cover with your hand for best reception.

The metal band around the phone is actually two antennas.

Some people are reporting signal loss if placing their hand a certain way. Any light bit of research will note that hand placement has had some effect on some units of every model handset since the bag phone. I've had people bringing it up all day and I still can't make it drop a single bar.
