Can't believe I scooped patric on this one:

A bit extreme for jaywalking, wouldn't you say?  Why on earth was he on patrol for jaywalkers in the first place?

It is quite crazy that it came to that on jaywalking.  However she assaulted the officer.  He responded with just about the least lethal form of force he has at his disposal.  If I pushed a police officer I would expect to get punched.

I'm still awaiting the denouncement from Je$$e Jack$on and Al $harpton.

They are too busy defending the S.C. Dem. Senate Candidate Alvin Greene against unfair attacks against him by the white democrat establishment down there. Oh, wait.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

If you look closely. He is no Boxer. He barely even clipped her.
As far as Im concerned, its more embarrassing than assaulting.
Changing opinions one mistake at a time.

Playing the race card wasnt necessary to show that this was way out of line.

He should have just tazed her and we wouldn't be having this conversation.  However her chances of death probably would go up 500x.

Guess that'll teach her to go back to the kitchen.

I was taught at a young age to do whatever the police tell you to do.  It certainly wasn't hit or resist arrest.  I have no sympathy towards ANYONE who resists arrest.  Put yourself in that officers shoes, with several bystandards around gawking, not knowing if they are related to the person resisting and could jump in at any moment.  Its a scary situation for all, and I believe the cop used reasonable force to get the situation "under control" until other officers arrived.

Al Sharpton was on the Today show Thurs morning regarding this...
He didn't really denouce it... just said the officer should have been able to handle the situation better.
