Set it out by the street for someone else to deal with?

You'd be amazed how quickly stuff 'disappears' if it happens to have any value at all.

Or post a CL ad. <shrug>

Put it in the back of a pickup truck and park at the downtown Home Depot for a few hours.  Also a great way to get rid of ovens, refrigerators, and furniture.

Don't use a trailer.  They will cut through a carbon steel trailer lock in 10 seconds.

Craigslist curb alert, great idea.  That gets rid of stuff in about an hour or two.

The trash truck should take the TV, but I'd  bust it up wuth a hammer and put the pieces in a trash bag and set  that by the  curb. Those TV sets break apart real easy it's just made with fiber boards. For the other stuff I was told there is a free dump that Tulsa residents can take their large items to. The metal things can be taken to recycle yards like Advanced Matals on N. Lewis street.

The television set can be taken to a couple of different electronic recyclers.

Natural Evolution is at 5719 E. 13th Street. They have a fifteen dollar television disposal charge. They then disassemble and recycle the parts.

Best Buy takes back TV's and only charges ten dollars and gives you a gift card for the store. They contract with an out of town agency so I can't verify what happens to the sets.

For the couch, if you live in the city limits of Tulsa, call the bulky waste hotline at 596-9777. They will schedule a day for you to put it at the curb. No charge.

Will they take a large rolled up old rug?

RM, I dig you man.

Well heck, no go on the rug.

But all I have to do is cut it into 4' lengths and within 2' diameter rolls.  Not too bad.

At least now I know...and knowing is...
