I'd read on TW online last night one officer implicated in this was arrested for beating up his girlfriend

Tulsa officer, probe figure, jailed in domestic assault
A Tulsa police officer who is cooperating with a federal grand jury's inquiry into police corruption was arrested Monday on complaints of domestic assault and battery, records show.
Eric J. Hill, 32, was
placed on paid leave June 22 after the Tulsa World made the Police Department aware that Hill had admitted stealing drug money during a January 2008 drug bust in Tulsa, according to federal court records.
A police report alleges that Hill assaulted his girlfriend, whose name was redacted on the report, on Sunday. He is accused of grabbing her head and hair and pulling her back into his car when she tried to get out at a red light.
The report alleges that he slammed her head into the dashboard two to three times, "leaving a large bleeding abrasion across her forehead.
When they arrived at her apartment in the 9700 block of South Memorial Drive, Hill shoved her out of his car and onto the ground, causing a large scrape across her knee, the document alleges.
He was arrested at 6:40 p.m. Monday, Tulsa Jail records show.
Hill joined the Tulsa Police Department in July 2005 and worked in the Gilcrease Division before he was suspended, police said. He has received prosecutorial immunity in the grand jury probe into police corruption, the World has reported.

Caught a bit of that on the news this morning on the way out the door.

I hope this is finally the rounding up and moving on part.  Officers who have abused their power, lied and stolen should be punished.  I don't agree with how Duke has handled this AT ALL, but am hopeful this means her media tour is coming to a close and we can focus on getting the bad apples out of the department and repairing the image.  This is a small faction of the department and they should be dealt with, it is NOT representative of the officers as a whole.

I wonder how many citizens are aware of how the policemen are abused?  It seems that when they are accused of what a citizen would consider a criminal act, if one is on the TPD they get their hands slapped with a ruler after they put on boxing gloves.  Then they are given full pay and other benefits while the accusation (even with a eye witness) is dragged through the courts.  It is not uncommon where  they are transferred into another policing department.  If one is a civilian, subjects to the local laws, he is incarcerated until he produces thousands of dollars in bonds to insure they appears in court.  He cannot even draw unemployment benefits.

The bottom line be that if you are on the police department you cannot commit a crime.  It cost the taxpayers too much
