Maybe a good time to reorganize "local reviews"?

Local Reviews and Chain Reviews?

How would you treat places like Rib Crib, that are local AND chains?

Third category: Local Chains.

I can't imagine that this would create any confusion at all.

Then we could have hundreds of sub categories.

What exactly is there to report about chain anyhow?  I think it's pretty tough to eat and bland even though it's a good source of iron, so I avoid it.

How many constitutes a chain?  Is there a cutoff?

I think restaurants with kids menus should have their own category...and places that serve free bread...

If the original wants a franchise fee and offers those franchises outside the local area, then to me it's considered a chain. There may well be other criteria for other people.  I know Rib Cribs exist in the KC Metro.  It's a chain to me.  Rib Crib does have a franchise fee.

Can't stand Rib Crib.

Sub category for happy meals?

We should probably have a different review criteria too. . . perhaps just compare them to each other. . . ::)

I know several local spots that could never compete with some chains, and several chains that could never hold a candle to the local spots.  I'm not sure that segregation of the review process based on business model has any value.

I love Bodean's, but I also love Bonefish Grill.  I see them as being able to compete equally in the marketplace.

Add a category for really bad.  Put Mazzio's in it.
They have so completely lost their way....ate there Saturday.  Big mistake.  Should have gone to McDonald's and gotten something edible.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Why?

This forum has two reviews categories covering restaurants:

"Local Reviews" and
"Restaurant Reviews"

Seems redundant.

I think "Local Reviews" original intent was a general catch all for any business you wanted to review.
