Hardt steps down

Public Works Director Charles Hardt will retire March 31.

Hardt, who returned to work on Wednesday after being on sick leave since Jan. 17 for knee replacement surgery, announced his retirement to the mayor and employees late Wednesday afternoon through a brief e-mail.

That came up at lunch today. 

With the make up of the present city council it was the consensus for the group, 3 conservatives and 4 liberals ( in my mind at the lunch today). That would be a bad idea.   

This city council is poisoned.  Time to get rid of everyone and start over. 

Then maybe a city manager would have a chance to succeed.
