Remember the school in that embarrassing video?
"Barack Hussain Obama Mmm, mmm, mmm"

The state fiscal monitor who oversees financial operations in the school district Thursday morning ordered the closing of the Barack H. Obama Elementary School as of July 1.

Students next year will go to the district's two other more modern elementary schools — Thurgood Marshall on the east side and Bradley on the west side.

Officially renamed early in 2010 after the president, the building was known as the Bangs Avenue School since it was built a century ago. The School was taken over by the state of New Jersey a few years back for gross managerial incompetence.

According to Education.com, the district spends nearly $36,000 per student but pulls in the lowest test rating the site offers."

I guess the "Obama Doctrine" doesn't apply to educational institutions.

Declining enrollment was the driving decision and they chose to close the oldest school in the system.   

Rodman said in a letter to district officials that he concluded the closing of the Obama school to be the best option. He cited a 35 percent drop in enrollment the past 10 years.

The economics of the decision were necessary. 

Rodman said he took into consideration the age and condition of the Obama school, built in three stages from 1910 to 1950.

The projected savings, he said, was $375,000 the first year from staff reductions, then $759,000 by the second year when the city's alternative school could be housed at Obama.

By the third year, the savings could be $975,000 when the administrative offices can be moved there and out of the former Asbury Park Press building downtown, where the district pays $15,000 a month to rent space.

And something everyone is missing is they are not tearing down the building, but they are going to reuse the building.   And not change the name,  something Michelle Malkin didn't share with she was gloating on the news last night.

No no no...it's the Obama school.  It's not winning because it's the Obama school.
