It appears to be a concert.  I can't see who the performers are, they are too far away. Don't know the song/noise.  Can't understand the garbled voices.  Lot's of flashy things.  I wonder if they remembered anything the next day.

Probably more like 1979.  The Disco (sucks) era caused me to listen to 50s, 60s, and early 70s Rock.  An occasional venture to the pop stations proved disappointing.  I've never been much of a Country fan.  I listen to KWTU (Classical station) mostly now and have a few favorite CDs for the car when KWTU is playing Opera with singing or something really boring.

There were a few radio stations with 50s and 60s rock and roll (still had the biscuit*) that I listened to in the late 80s. I guess my generation had enough money and were willing to spend it to attract advertisers.

*One album cover from long ago had a picture of a stone and a biscuit.  My sister's friend being from OK asked what was so interesting about a stone and a biscuit.  My sister, about 14 when we moved here from Phila area, told her it was Rock & Roll.

In my opinion, the lyrics are irrelevant (although the lyrics in that song are kinda neat). Nirvana had a very new sound that essentially destroyed the mindless pop Madonnas and phony metal Poisons/Cinderellas who preceded them. There are very very few musicians/performers in my life experience who had such an incredible impact on music than those three guys. IMO, as far as 1980s rockers go, only G&R (for a while), Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, and Van Halen survived. I could very well be wrong as to that list.
