The President Memorializes Our Fallen Soldiers. . .By Breaking 100!

Patriotism is so yesterday!

After a quick drive-by wreathing at Arlington it was on to the links to enjoy the freedom our soldiers died for.  This makes the 70th round of golf in 28 months.

Memorial day is an awesome day to hit the links early and get in a round while the rest of the country is busy memorializing those who gave their lives for our freedom.  When you're The President, you're almost guaranteed to get a tee time.

So while the rest of the country uses the day to get in an extra day of drinking and partying, or at least recovering, and an excuse to fire up the BBQ, the president isn't allowed to play a round of golf after ceremonies at Arlington?

Remember who we're talking about here, cust, the biggest case of ODS on the TNF forums.  I'm guessing Scott was out painting ribs with his BBQ sauce while I was out casting flowers on the grave of my Grandfather.  Who was a WWII vet.

My apologies if my assumption is incorrect, but I wouldn't be surprised...

I did not say that.  I said it was "an awesome day to hit the links."

Why? Does it upset you?

Some day, when I retire, I hope to be able to travel the world and play golf two or three times a month.  ;)

Why does the President playing golf upset you so?

You have posted about it many times.

Why didn't the former President Bush's habit of clearing brush and going to baseball games bother you?

Took the kids to see the flags at Memorial park and watch the changing of the guard ceremony.  Then spent some time on the phone with my father who is a Korean war vet.

Then painted ribs and made a killer pulled pork for a house full of family including two Vietnam vets and one Desert Storm vet.

So your assumption was both wrong and right!  :)

I'm just jealous RM.  I love to play golf, but with the demands of my job and children I don't get to very often.

You are being less than honest with us.

You can't find enough real ways to criticize Obama to satisfy your partisan obsession so you make up junk like this.

You are clearly losing touch with reality.

Nowhere in this thread have I been in the least bit critical of the President.  On the contrary, I admire his devotion to the game of golf.

Why is everyone so defensive?

Tsk Tsk.

Wearing shorts on the links.  So tacky.

I did not criticize him for that, I just made a statement.  What a great time to golf.  The courses would not have been very crowded, and his game would not be an inconvenience to any of the other golfers ( I assume they probably shut down part of the course for his game and related security detail).  It was probably a very considerate action on his part to play on such a day!

You can't wear "Cargo Shorts" on most courses, but most do allow golf shorts now.  He's dressed about the same and I am when I golf (except I do wear regular shorts).

He's playing with Calloway's.  They should make an ad!

Bush spent 1,020 days of his presidency on vacation. To put this into context, John F. Kennedy spent fewer days in office, 1000, than George W. Bush spent on vacation. Bush spent 487 days at Camp David, 490 days at his Crawford ranch, and 43 days in Kennebunkport. George W. Bush spent 69 days in Crawford during his first year in office. In contrast, according to FactCheck.org, Obama spent all, or part of, 26 days of his first year in office on vacation. This was less than all three previous Republican presidents, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush, but more than the two previous Democratic presidents, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

Why do yiou care so much about Obama and his free time?

Oh, I forget. You are a partisan hack.
