I noticed today they are starting to demo part of the north end of the parking lot closer to the bike trail.  Hopefully this project is getting underway.

The entire Mid-Town Subs building is now leveled and they have a construction fence up around the site.  I imagine the plans will be officially released soon.  I'm still hearing that it will be an Asian restaurant with a rooftop seating/bar area with parking behind and to the south (closer to Whataburger) with the building fronting Peoria and the adjacent bike trail.  If true the views from that rooftop will be some of the best in Tulsa.

I'm surprised it's gone this far without any announcement.  I think it's a great location and would have some good skyline views.

I'm cheering for the trees to grow and block their skyline view. I planted some of them long ago.

They're beautiful 20's/30's era brick apartment buildings but need a facelift and one needs a new roof.  Those and a few of the buildings behind them on Quaker are still in bad shape.  Cherry Street has seen of lot of gentrification/new development but there are still some holes mixed in with the new/renovated.

More than once I have driven by and felt motivated to just go buy some whitewash and a roller and just do the owner a favor.  The residents inside would think "Oh NO! our rent just went up."

More than one of my friends have lived in that three story building.  Those apts. are huge.

This project sounds great.  Maybe we should come up with another district name.  I was thinking something like TriBeCa (Triangle Below Canal st.) in manhattan.  The rectangale between Cherry and the Pearl doesn't really acronymize well, though.  "where's fat phillies?" "Oh, it's in RecChePe"

Some have tried in the past to call everything north of 15th NoChe (North Cherry) but that's pretty lame IMO.  This will still be in Cherry Street even if not on 15th.  Many don't realize that Swan Lake starts in the neighborhoods south of 15th and goes all the way to 21st between Peoria and Utica.  Everything north of the BA in that area is either Tracy Park to the west of Peoria and Forest Orchard to the east until you get to 11th where the Pearl begins.
