TulsaNow is looking for nominations of three individuals in Tulsa who have gone above and beyond in driving Tulsa towards a great future. It could be someone pushing for better zoning, developing great urban businesses, promoting sustainable living, or anything else that is helping Tulsa to become an even greater city. Their accomplishments should be recent, but need not be in the last year. We are looking for nominations for individuals that you think deserve special recognition from each of the following categories:

1. Outstanding political leader/civic respresentative (someone who has used their position in office to further things like urban revitalization and better zoning)
2. Outstanding developer/business owner (someone creating great business(es) or development(s) that make Tulsa great)
3. Outstanding citizen (someone who has done great things, even without a title)

Send your nominations to info@tulsanow.org

I nominate Michael for being so punny.

Hmmm. . .

1. Outstanding political leader
Someone who encourages growth through policy and representation.

2. Outstanding developer/business owner
Someone who creates opportunity through economic development.

3. Outstanding citizen
Someone who leads by example.  A natural ambassador.

Some people may be represented in more than one of these categories.

I'd probably nominate Blake Ewing for 2 & 3, and next year perhaps the trifecta!

Unfortunately, I've not seen anything close to quality political representation out of Tulsa City Hall, at least not in the last two years.  I'd have to take a closer look at state representatives and state senators from Tulsa.

I'm sure your invite to the pre-opening festivities at Back Alley BBQ are in the mail now.

Second for two and three. How about Michelle Cantrell for 1

Lightning Rod!

She sends fear down the spines of developers interested in Tulsa.  If that's what you admire than she is a good candidate.

Do they have to live in Tulsa? Or anyone who  affected Tulsa in a big way?

Last I checked 'three local leaders' has a pretty straightforward meaning.

Omaha/Columbus/Ft. Worth doesn't count as local.

Off the top of my head and with an apology in advance for any misspellings.

The Snyderman Family for having the gumption to save the Mayo and City Hall and the Old YMCA while maintaining the historic architecture of these structures.

The Warren Kids for standing out from the rest of the old money crowd with their imagination and big vision.

Father Slattery for his tireless defense of the immigrant community.
