Conan, I thought you had to show photo ID now? The previous regime was that you had to show photo ID either when you first register or the first time you vote, but afterwards, a signature will do.
The law requires a photo ID, and does not include the voter registration card.

The sign on the door did say "Photo ID or voter card". 

I carry both in case someone in authority in a long leather coat and monocle demand to see them.

I hate that we have to show a picture, but state law prohibits putting pictures of the candidates in the voting booth or ballot.

I think the one at mine just said ID, but didn't pay that much attention.  I'm just going by what the law says.  I didn't even think of showing my card, which I carry on me.
