Pending final approvals from the court, Tulsa Now's favorite real estate mogul John Bumgarner will now own the Mid-Continent Tower and adjacent parking garage.  His pockets will be $24.1MM lighter but he'll control three of the four corners of 4th & Boston.  It also gives him control of all open "tunnels" in downtown, as the only open portions are underneath and connect 320 S Boston, Kennedy, Mid-Continent Tower & Mid-Continent Garage.

Should we expect a Tuscan re-make of the Mid-Con?

I know I'm hard on him but I'm relieved this building is in the possession of a local who can afford it.

Speaking of Mid-Con, whats up with the eternal scaffolding around it?

1) Supposedly, Bones had told the agents early on he was buying the building.
2) The Tierra Cotta exterior requires large maintenance outlays every 3 years or so to insure nobody below gets hit by stoned to death. :o
3) This project cost Reading and Bates dearly. It had several lenders take big hits. But the bondholders made good interest and may have gotten out with their shirts on.

Look up.
They're restoring the stone facade.
It currently looks like a puzzle with a lot of missing pieces.
