oh, the ire wasn't directed towards you.  Just at my need of a new phone.  Very irritating when you want a new app.

What kind of phone do you have now?

Android Hauwei Ascend.  It had a glitch come up with the marketplace a few months ago after a reset (GPS was starting to get off), which kept me from downloading apps that I had bought.  It just went downhill from there. I'm hoping to get a new one in the next few weeks.

I was going to say get an Atrix because AT&T has them for free now, but I think it's only with a new 2-year contract.  This phone is a monster when it comes to speed.  I think it's currently the only android phone on the market with a dual-core processor.

EDIT:  Think I'm wrong about the dual-core assertion, but they market it as the worlds most powerful smartphone.  That's kind of a broad statement, so take it how you will.  It's a good phone, though.

I'm not on AT&T, so that wouldn't do me much good.  I don't think my company offers it.  In any case, I'm looking at around $200 for a new one, which is why I'm waiting to get it.  It will be nice to have one without a busted screen lens.

Does the Atrix allow you to move files by bluetooth, or is it crippled like the iPhone where you have to use the network whenever you want to send files?

Yes, it allows you to do that.  Although I tried moving files from the Atrix to my old iPhone, and that didn't work.  Anything else it works fine for.

Peer-to-peer wifi is where it's at. No additional power consumption and easier to use. Bluetooth is so 2008.

Atrix can do ad-hoc as well; there are just better apps for bluetooth sharing.  That and the fact my new pc has bluetooth built-in.

Nice phone. I'd have one if free didn't come with strings like "with a $30 a month data plan". I don't really want to double my monthly for data and messaging, since I already have unlimited data and enough messages to be effectively unlimited for me. I just can't justify permanently increasing my cell phone bill by $20 a month when I can just buy smartphones at&t doesn't sell and keep my 2004-era data/text plan.
