I quit using Apple products in March, but still recognize the vision and what he did for technology and how we live and work in this world.  A visionary has passed, that's for sure.  I noticed that one of the national anchors referred to him as "Edisonian" upon reporting of his passing.  I thought that was fitting and proper.

Again, I frakking hate cancer. Too many, too young, die from that beyotch. RIP Mr. Jobs. Your legacy will be larger than you would ever have known.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

Not surprised, the last picture I saw of him he looked very frail.

CBS News called him the Thomas Edison of our time.

Rest in peace brilliant man.
Trust but verify

This so sad. He was an amazing public speaker as well as inventor/innovator. This is also typed using one of his products.

I thought my Mac and my iPhone were a little lethargic tonight.

A true icon of our times.  I cannot disagree with the comparison to Thomas Edison either.  Not only was he a visionary on product development but also in corporate culture and corporate responsibility.  Godspeed Mr. Jobs.

Nice.

He is and always will be an American Icon.

God's Speed Steve and thank you for your genius

While I may have disagreed with his style of doing things, he was indeed a genius, and has propelled many things forward in today's technologically driven world.  The world is a little bit poorer for the loss of this man.  I may have to buy an Apple product just in his memory.

Yep, for me, likely a Shuffle or a Nano...

Westboro Baptist Church Leader Announces Jobs Funeral Picket... From An iPhone

http://www.ktul.com/story/15632854/westboro-baptist-church-leader-announces-jobs-funeral-picket-from-an-iphone?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

QuoteCupertino, CA - The leader of a Topeka, Kansas church that has picketed at the funerals of American service members announced it will picket the funeral of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who died Wednesday. But, it's how they made the announcement that is getting the most attention.

Margie Phelps posted a message on Twitter shortly after the announcement of Jobs' death, saying:

"No peace for man who served self, not God. #hellgreetedhim Westboro must picket funeral. #warnliving MT @applenws: RIP Steve Jobs 1955-2011."

What was ironic was that the message was posted using an iPhone, the device Jobs' company developed.

But then you have to deal with your dreaded iTunes, don't you?

Nope, I've got other programs to deal with that.  But had to have iTunes to update the iOS.  None of the clones could do that.  You remember my ranting about it borking three upgrades in a row don't you?  I didn't ever use it for music, and will use other software out there for that.

Not to crap a Steve Jobs thread with commerce-related issues, but curious if anyone knows if iPhone 5 is still imminent?  I'm real close to pre-ordering a 4S tomorrow, as I'm due for an upgrade and I've been on an iP3 for over two years now.
