Reminds me of when I was a kid and people put aluminum foil flags on TV antennas to improve reception.

Reminds me of when I was a teenager and used a beer can for a bong.

Here's a safer version built from a Pringles can.

These really do work, but you need to keep the coaxial cable as short as possible because its losses increase directly with frequency and length.  Also, you need a WiFi card with a connector for the antenna, usually a SMA connector.

May you live in interesting times.

The Cantenna has been around for years. I've never been impressed by Kim Komando either, her half-a__ advice and her attitude bothers me.

Keep in mind that her target audience is computer newbies who need an authoritative voice they can trust.

You know what's sad Ed?

I'm not even as qualified on a computer as those she gears her program to and I've had one for over 20 years now.

Or if as lazy as I am, just buy the commercial version.

Only $40 and save the time wasted in the emergency room!  Or $20 for the kit and you supply the can.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

All this talk about beer cans reminds me...William Shatner has a new album coming out - Seeking Major Tom.  Heard some excerpts on NPR the other day!  Can hardly wait to get it!
