I've got a project I want to do and need a couple of wine crates.  I know most on this board are beer drinkers, but thought I would ask anyhow if anyone might have some, or at least know what wine shop might be willing to part with some.

Wine crates?  Like wooden crates?

I don't know that I've ever seen those at liquor stores, just cardboard case boxes.

Are talking about something like the old "Peaches" Record crates ? Those were cool.
Changing opinions one mistake at a time.

Wood crates, with the logo generally embossed or painted on. It's typically french wines that are in wooden crates. My next option will be building them myself, but then I don't get the logo. Peach crates aren't quiet what I'm looking for.

Beringer ships in them sometimes.  Liquor stores get them in but they may hand them out pretty quickly.

Call Parkhill's and ask one of the wine guys if they can save you some crates.

I asked my friend who owns a liquor store.  No luck, sorry.

BKDotCom

I'm guessing that the crates are more of a gift-boxing /  possibly receive them if you order from the winery.

Cardboard & styrofoam:  the new wood.

Was just at the liquor store by whole foods and they say they only get them occasionally and usually use then for decor, go figure

I have a wooden large champagne bottle box if your still interested.  I just need to know where to drop it off at.

Oh, that would be excellent.  What area are you in?  PM me and we can see about arranging something.

I just ran into this post, and at the risk of "self promoting" I would have to recommend Winepine to you as a source for wine crates.

The best part of buying wine crates at Winepine is that you can pick and choose the wine crates or boxes you want. We offer a very large variety, and all of them are inspected and prepared to a like-new or better condition.

Instead of spending hours and hours trying to fine less desirable wine crates, why not have perfect ones delivered to your door?

The website is: www.winepine.com

Cool.  Where are you located?

joiei actually got me what I needed.  As I get time I'm converting two of them and trying to figure out what I want to do with the third.

The crates don't rate compared to the wines....
