Do they get to drive their horses home at night?

I think it is interesting that FoxNews was the only news outlet to report anything happening. Their words seem to add to what happened.

I spoke to friends who saw what happened and they said the cops chased a couple of people and arrested them. The officers on horseback came over and watched what was happening. They said there were five or six people who yelled back at the police.

If I just got my news from Fox23, I would have assumed chaos broke out and people were trapped. If I listened to patric (who used the word "riot" in his headline), I would have thought this was a war.

This seemed to be a minor incident. If it had been any more, there would be protests about police brutality. Instead, it appears we have Fox News inflaming the story and patric using the opportunity to once again write about his disregard for law enforcement.

I blame it on Dewey! (and/or Victoria...)

Mounted White Guys Coppers? WHY?

Last Black guy I saw on a horse was Cleavon Little.

...in the greatest Western ever made.    ;)
Meanwhile in a time period seemingly not far removed;

There were two dogs fighting at the MLK parade.

Authorities said animal control told Jones he couldn't have his pit bull at the parade. They said he refused to listen, and minutes later chaos broke out. Deputies on horses charged into a crowd. Some folks trapped were between guard rails.

Earlier stuff on the web doesn't show much at all, but later on their 10-o'clock news they showed several angles of the horses trampling the crowd and people being knocked over, but like they said, most people were unaware of it as you had to be right there.

I didn't see any coverage this year, but I remember seeing lots of African Americans on horseback at this parade and others in the last few years.

None of them looked as exquisite as Cleavon but darn close.

So, if they were "trampled" were they taken to a hospital?

Was David Garrett there with business cards in hand?

There are multiple dog fights every year.

If they're there to break up dog fights (on horseback?), then they really don't understand the community.

Anyone else notice a lock down on information?

I know several people that were there.  They all said that nothing happened and that the storry was fabricated.  I was told there were people on horses, but they were not in uniform.

You can safely say you followed the links to the news stories and saw the video.

It looks like animal control officers were trying to stop a dog fight and the dog owners caused enough problems to get themselves arrested. I didn't seee any horses anywhere in that video.

I could've sworn they'd run out of money for the horses a while back.

Go back to the first video for the horses, Michael:

The City did, and dissolved it's mounted patrol.  Monday's incident involved the county's mounted patrol.
As a fellow horse owner, I knew one of the city's mounted officers, and I'm inclined to believe that he would have exercised more restraint.
