Best Pancakes in Tulsa?

I had breakfast at Tallys last week for the first time.  It was huge!  I ordered eggs, bacon, and a blueberry waffle.  My son had the same with French toast.  Honestly, it was a ton of really good food.  I rarely eat breakfasts like that, but it will get me in the door again.

Another thing -- if anyone knows of pancake breakfasts as fund raisers for various groups, would you post them here so we can attend?  I like to support community groups even if the food is mediocre.

Ed, MC and I agreed next time we will split a breakfast, not out of being cheap, but because they are just too big for one sitting and who wants to re-heat breakfast food?  Even though the MO is to ride the old tank bikes there and ride around afterwards, it's hard to ride when you are stuffed!

There's a couple of volunteer fire department pancake breakfasts I know of- there is a rural Skiatook one south of Skiatook first Saturday of every month that's popular with the cyclists (I'll see if I can get better location information).

Other I know of is the Keystone FD on Coyote Trail, roughly 6 miles from the western terminus of the road out near Mannford.  I can't remember the weekend of the month off the top of my head.

I've got a new assignment finding more info for you but glad to oblige.

I'm gonna have to try Tally's.  Now, if only the Golden Drumstick was still across the street...could get lunch and dinner all at the same corner.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I had the Blueberry pancakes at Dome on Saturday; there were almost more berries than cakes. Delicious.

I don't like Corner Cafe's frozen food. Not tasty in the least.
Thank you,

I think Ed is talking about the Tally's in Owasso which is new.   You are talking about the Tally's at 11th and Yale.   The 11th and Yale Tally's is good.   The 15th and Lewis Tally's not so good.   I've been to the 129th and 31st Tally's and it was awful.

I have not been to the Owasso Tally's but my wife has and she said it was good.  Ed seems to like it too which between my wife and Ed is good enough for me.  Just be careful about which Tally's you go to.

I thought that was a Duffy's at 15th & Lewis.  Whatever it is, your assessment of the food is correct.

Nope.  We were on 11th near TU.  I didn't know there's a Tallys in Owasso.  There's a Duffys that we haven't visited yet.  I think there's some sort of legal requirement to have a Duffy's cafe or tavern in every county.  We went to Mom's once too.  I won't go back.

20 years ago (?) I would go to Duffy's in BA regularly - it was ok.  Went back last fall and it was ok still, but I can open a can of beans or corn, too.  Plus I would add just a touch of salt and some fresh ground pepper.  Maybe some clarified butter....

Didn't know about Owasso, but drive by 11th Tally's quite a bit and have wanted to try.  With Ed's endorsement, I am now motivated to make it a point to go.

Tulsa area Salvation Army to host Pancakes and Porn breakfast discussion

http://www.kjrh.com/dpp/news/local_news/tulsa-area-salvation-army-to-host-pancakes-and-porn-breakfast-discussion

QuoteTULSA - This is not your typical Saturday morning pancake breakfast social.

The Salvation Army is holding a "Pancakes 'n' Porn" breakfast in which the discussion will focus on pornography.

Captain Jay Spalding, minister of the Citadel Corps, will lead the discussion and even points to this weekend's holiday as being as good a time as any to bring the issue to the table.

"What a better gift to give the women in your life this Mother's Day weekend than making a pledge as a Christian man to not view pornography?," said Captain Spalding.

According to the Salvation Army press release, the discussion will focus on the "damaging effects of porn on young people, marriages, and on the hearts of men, including Christians."

The event is free and will begin at 9 a.m. at the Salvation Army Tulsa Area Command at 924 South Hudson.

It's only for males 15 and older. Boys between the ages of 12 and 15 must be accompanied by their father.

I'll be presenting the counterpoints.

Power is nothing till you use it.

For men of a certain age, this constitutes porn:

We look at it and say, "You know, I used to have a car just like that!"
