I am looking into dropping DISH and going with ROKU/Apple TV and some Rabbit ears..with a 80.00 savings a month...anyone have some suggestions on Antennas that they like and have used for digital TV reception?

Ed W

'Digital' antennas are hype and nonsense.  Buy a good antenna from a reputable manufacturer.  Use quality feedline, not bargain basement stuff.  Position it as high as possible, with a rotator too.

May you live in interesting times.

You will need to put the antenna outside. The old analog signal didn't travel as far but was far more powerful than the new digital signal. The old arrow looking antennas work great. Don't be taken in by the hype of the digital antenna sales people. Don't even bother trying to put it in the attic. You will just frustrate yourself and end up putting it outside anyway.
Sorry to lose you as a Satellite customer but I sure understand where you are coming from. Cut's have to start somewhere.

Its not so much about saving, while it will save..I just NEVER watch that much TV to justify this anymore...Netflix, Hulu are what I watch most of the time anyway...DISH has a great service and need for some..but not for me.

Thanks I am for sure wanting something that WORKS and will take the advice..thanks!

Your welcome. If you ever do decide to come back to satellite, let me know and I will get you a great deal. Best of luck with the antenna installation.

I dropped to basic cable at $20/mo because I have multiple TV's and antenna-ing them all up would be a pain. I have family a half mile away who have been through many antennas and at best get "most" channels on "most" tv's.

New AppleTV coming late this month/early next month FYI, I would wait on buying the box for a bit.

Just, for the love of all that is holy, don't buy a Google TV.

I got a Revue for fairly cheap last year...wow, what a steaming pile of FAIL that was.

More details on Apple?  My two year contract with DTV is up and considering all options.  I've already been in touch with Dolfan as well.

There are never any details, but based on timing it is possible there will be an announcement along the iPad 3 on March 7th.

iPad HD is today's rumor, even though the rumored display is much higher res than HD and the old display was HD already, but I digress.

XGA (1024x768) isn't HD, it's ED. WXGA, on the other hand, has the requisite 1280 pixels in the horizontal dimension to render full 720p.
