"Twitter" is all a flitter with this viral video. Make Joseph Kony famous 2012 campaign.
Celebs and Politicians are all over it. Even our own Jim Inhofe is in the video.
If you haven't seen it yet here it is. Whats your thoughts ?

Changing opinions one mistake at a time.

I think the campaign is great.  The facts about the connectivity of Facebook/Twitter is unreal.  The facts about the children Kony abducts is very real and revolting.

I'm going to make a sad prediction about the Kony viral campaign.

This is not a new story.  It's been an embarrassment for years.  I've seen stories about Kony and his murderous acts for over 10 years.

Unfortunately, here is my prediction. . .

We will start to see articles and posts attacking this young filmmaker. The left will ultimately take him out, and those in Hollywood will discredit and distance themselves from him.  Why?

Because. . .in 2008-2009 massive deposits of oil were found in Uganda, and suddenly that country is important.  Movements like Invisible Children now see their coffers overflowing with donations to bring about awareness of this human tragedy.  Save the Children is also receiving donations to place special focus on this country.  The media is going to start examining where these donations are coming from.

I would ask you, regardless of who is funding this effort to take out Kony, and save these people, it is a good thing that you support it.  No matter what you hear as the media connects the dots in the upcoming weeks and attempts to destroy the messenger, it does not change the fact that there is a grave injustice that the world has allowed to take place in this country for a very long time.

If the discovery of a natural resource makes the lives of these people important enough to save, then so be it.

When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

Something broke you a while back.

This is fitting with your political and market predictions.

Why the extreme scrutiny on the organizations funding/spending and film makers. This seems like a story the media would lap up in a heart beat. For goodness sake what's the harm in marking people aware of what goes on outside our borders. At the very least it should make people realize how incredibly great we have things here in America. I even heard people on CNN last night saying things like "taking Kony out won't stop anything, he's just a figure head". These were the same people praising the day Bin Laden was "taken care of". What's the difference?

Regardless of what you think of them, if I had met some of those kids like these guys have, I think I would feel pretty strongly about putting an end to it as well and use any means necessary to do so.

And we as a nation never do.  This has been going on for decades in Uganda, before that it was Idi Amin, before that it was the previous guy.  And then there is Rwanda, Congo, Nigeria, Somalia....and on and on and on.  If it isn't economically feasible - get us more oil, uranium, commodity dujour - it doesn't happen, no matter how many women and children are raped, tortured and murdered.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I agree that we should spend gov't money on it.   I mean hey, what's another billion or two.

we vs us

FWIW, Obama deployed 100 military advisors to Uganda several months back to aid in the hunt for Kony and his army.  So, we're actually already spending some money/time/attention on the matter.

Quote'Meltdown,' Detention For Director Of 'Kony'

By ERICA ORDEN

A co-founder of the group that produced a popular online video about fugitive African rebel leader Joseph Kony was detained by police in San Diego and hospitalized after "exhibiting bizarre behavior" while dressed only in his underwear, according to police.

Jason Russell, 33 years old, was detained Thursday afternoon in the Pacific Beach area after he was found having "kind of a meltdown," according to San Diego police officer Thomas Broxtermann.

Mr. Broxtermann said police responded to multiple complaints variously describing a white male "running around the street in his underwear," "naked and masturbating and screaming" and "banging his hands on the ground and screaming incoherently." The calls complaining began around 11:30 a.m.

Mr. Russell was handcuffed and taken to a Kaiser Permanente medical facility for a mental-health evaluation, Mr. Broxtermann said, adding that Mr. Russell wasn't intoxicated and wasn't criminally charged.

In a statement released Friday, Ben Keesey—chief executive of Invisible Children Inc., the San Diego nonprofit organization that produced "Kony 2012"—described the episode involving Mr. Russell as "an unfortunate incident."

"Jason Russell was unfortunately hospitalized yesterday suffering from exhaustion, dehydration and malnutrition," Mr. Keesey said in the statement. "The past two weeks have taken a severe emotional toll on all of us, Jason especially."

"Kony 2012" focuses on the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army, which is accused of recruiting children into sexual slavery and using them to wage a violent campaign to topple Uganda's government.

Mr. Russell directed and narrated the video, in which he also appears along with his toddler son.

Since it was released earlier this month, the video has become the fastest-growing viral phenomenon in Web history, with more than 137.2 million views as of Thursday. But it has also been controversial, sparking criticism that it is out of date and insensitive to victims in the conflict.

Invisible Children executives have said the video is aimed at raising awareness among a young demographic unfamiliar with Mr. Kony's alleged crimes.

Mr. Russell's biography on Invisible Children's website describes him as "our grand storyteller and dreamer," according to a cached version of the page, which was not functioning Friday.

He "believes wholeheartedly in magic and the impossible," according to the biography. "Already a proud papa to Gavin Danger and Everley Darling, Jason wants to have nine more children with his beautiful wife Danica' the girl who has been his best friend for over 23 years."

cuckoo for Kony?
