The game was great. The precipitation completely let up sometime around the first inning. It was cool but not cold. T-Shirt weather. Took my three year old daughter. Walked over to Brady area, which was more difficult than I had anticipated. All the streets around the new museum were closed down. Caz's was alright, safe for kids for sure. But once in the stadium, my daughter loved the play gound, splash pad, and inflatables. Very kid friendly. Sat on the third base side and was surprised I couldn't here any road traffic as there is nothing between the seats and the road literally. And of course the fireworks were great with an amazing background of course.

The only negative that came to mind was that I was just amazed that the stadium costs as much as it did. Only one base line (and the outfield) had built in concessions. The third base side had carts/open air. I understand the field is below grade, and that's not cheep. But I was still wondering where all the money went. That and nothing has occurred in the lots immediately surrounding the stadium except to charge big time for game time parking in non-paved lots. Does the trust own any of the lots surrounding? Were they going to put out bids or what? Or have they and no one was interested. I will say the ballpark is probably in about the best place it could be. Right beside the highway. It's not like anyone would have ever been clamoring for that land. Now it provides kind of a barrier for other development.

The walk to and from Caz's was interesting since we had to go down to Archer to get around. There are no sidewalks at times (and some were fenced in because of construction) and crossing archer at Boston is dicey because traffic doesn't stop. Seems like they would have put in a light or a stop sign considering all the residents at the Tribune/Metro. I'm sure they cross Archer often.
