Anyone else as annoyed and perplexed at the John Sullivan ads?

"Anyone who says he isn't conservative, that person just might not be well!"

He's gotten in the president's face over health care?  Really?

I'd also like to know what spending cuts he's signed that are actually saving tax payers $20 trillion.  I must have missed that.

Does his campaign think the D-1 constituents are all a bunch of hicks?

There's enough of them to get him re-elected.  That's all that matters.

He better not get in the President's face too much...Obama might get a contact drunk.

Good catch Conan. Look at John Olson. He walked up to me at the Mayfest and introduced himself and we chatted. Later his wife and son walked up. Good answers, good communicator. Education and jobs.  I told him that District 1 had chewed up a lot of fine candidates and Sully would be after him unless he had a halo. An Afghanistan vet, he replied, "I don't have a halo but I'm up for that battle".

I like what Olson has to say about the obstruction and partisanship.  Interesting I can't seem to find anything about his party affiliation on his web site.  Seems a bit odd.

Personally, if I were still a GOP I'd vote for Bridenstine in the primary.  If Olson is a Dem, I'll carefully consider prior to voting for either candidate.

Edit: Here we go, Tulsa World story says he's a Democrat.

Tulsa businessman John Olson plans congressional run to replace Sullivan

Tulsa businessman John Olson said Monday he's running for Congress because he wants everyone to have the same opportunities he did.

"No one gets left behind," he said, citing a fellow soldier he said he helped bury in Afghanistan. "No one. I believe that is my core."

Olson, 34, will seek the Democratic nomination in the 1st District. The newly redrawn congressional district includes all of Tulsa, Washington and Wagoner counties and portions of Rogers and Creek counties.

Incumbent John Sullivan is expected to face Jim Bridenstine in a June Republican primary.

Olson said the cancellation of training for his Army Reserve unit, caused by a funding stalemate, prompted him to explore the possibility of entering the congressional race.

"If I behaved the way Congress is behaving, I would have been relieved of command long ago," Olson said during a Monday press conference at the Tulsa Press Club.

"Everyone is squabbling, and no one's taking responsibility."

A Minnesota native, Olson said his family "moved around a lot and times were pretty hard."

He said he went to work in a steel mill at 15.

Through military service - first with the regular Army and later with the Minnesota National Guard and the Reserves - as well as financial aid, Olson said he was able to earn a bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University and then a master's degree in industrial psychology and a law degree, both from the University of Tulsa.

"I am one story of the American dream," Olson said.

He owns Advantage Business Resources, an organizational development consulting service.

He also commands a company in the 354th U.S. Army Reserve Regiment. He served a one-year tour in Afghanistan.

Olson and his wife, Zsa Olson, a counselor and therapist, have six children.

He is a Democrat, but how Democrat can you be in Oklahoma?

That ad sort of cracks me up...

Vote for me, I'm from your state!  (Well, duh, isn't that a requirement for office?)

Aside from being from your state, which ranks near the bottom in every health & well-being measure, I'm also against health care.

In addition, I have a somewhat firm jawline, that I think qualifies me for office.

Sometimes I wear blue jeans and stride purposefully.  (Where did they park my Lincoln Navigator...?)

I'm right, and if you don't agree with me, you are wrong.

Oh, and I like guys with husky deep voices.

And alliteration.  Alliteration is cool.

I'm dying of laughter over here. :)

Except I think you give him too much credit with 'alliteration'.
Change never happened because people were happy with the status quo.

His brother and coconspirator is.

Gene is still alive and representing Oklahoma Democrats.  I think he is still incarcerated or perhaps between incarcerations now.  Classic shitebag!

Hell, I keep forgetting, he's one of the un-dead.

He literally was called "The Prince Of Darkness" by his foes in his heyday.
