Wow.  While this may statistically be correct to an extent, it's not the way you'd like to present yourself to your customers.

I was thinking about switching in December.  I doubt I will now and will never recommend them to anybody.

DolfanBob got me a great deal on Direct TV. Use me as a reference.

Did DirecTV ever make the new TiVo box available nationwide?

Hey DB, does DTV do something similar to whole home DVR like Cox or Dish?

I am happy. Dolfan Bob got me the NFL ticket for free this year and I have watched almost all of the pre-season games.

I got 90 days worth of premium movie channels for free as well and I got to watch a bunch of movies I missed at the theater.

Call Bob and use me as a reference.

What are the ups and downs with DirecTV v Cox please?

I'd love to have a side by side comparison if there's one available.

Cox has the best and fastest internet available. You see I didn't mention the cheapest. The unlimited use(for now)also is a good perk.

But Television. I can get you a better deal with more channels and HD than they can offer you. If you are a new subscriber to DirecTV. I can get you a 5 tuner DVR for a one time fee of 99.99 and it will work on all the TVs in the home. Also to offset that 99.99 upfront cost. Like Mike say's, I will get you and him the 100 dollar referral fee and installation is alway's free.

And the myth that Satellite alway's goes out during a storm is just that. Mine may go out anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes during a heavy downpour. The dishes are larger and the satellites are more powerful than back in the mid 90s

I stay at a place that has Direct (installed about 2 years ago), and some storms don't seem to phase it a bit.  Sometimes what seems like a sprinkle will knock it out.  Probably due to different intensity layers up to the cloud...

Can lose from seconds to half an hour.  I just push the switch to go to "over the air" transmission for that time.  Easy fix.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

As long as you have a good and solid dish install with maximum signal strength. It should be minimal time loss depending on the storm clouds to the South. I also either switch to my outside antenna or watch something on the DVR.
It is nowhere near the time if a main cable or fiber line is cut or a pole is snapped due to a storm or a runaway car.

Not complaining - well, maybe a little about channel selection, but that is a function of the guy who runs the place - not a satellite issue.

I could just buy my own to solve that problem, but this works out ok.

5 tuner dvr - records five tv's??  And the $99 - is that a buy or a rent situation?

The five tuner will record five shows at the same time and can be accessed from the other hd receivers in the house. All receivers are lease and the five tuner for current customers cost is 499.99. that's why I don't have one yet. It also does picture in picture.
