First Baptist is looking to expand the brick and stucco design of the old AT&T building to new and existing structures. They are looking at removing the old hotel on Cincinatti due to it no longer meeting code and replacing it with green space. Another building on Cincinatti with code issues would be lowered and converted mainly to common areas similar to a school's student union.

What where?
Actually I think I've figured it out from the renderings...  nutshell only church property is being razed/replaced.
This was an old hotel??

Yeah. The block is made up of nine building glued together. Lots of elevation changes and the original church is mostly hidden. The architects joked that driving around the block was like visiting every decade since the 20's. Because of this, they plan to make all the structures that share a face with the AT&T building to have a matching facade using brickwork and terra cotta. There is talk about going even more in this direction than pictured.

Plan would be removing one building and the majority of another building(which is actually 3 buildings slapped together) to expose the old church, add more open space, etc. The HVAC system in the old AT&T building is being replaced to an upgraded system. The old one could not accommodate 6 floors of people. The new building would be for children as they are having trouble meeting code and occupancy requirements in the existing buildings. Apparently there are different occupancy rules for nurseries and children's classroom space. Ease of egress being the main factor.

The Microwave tower will be coming down for sure, but everything else is just in early concept since this is a 10-15 year plan.

What a waste of a perfectly good tower on top of a building. :P

It's free to anyone who wants it, but the stuff inside is so old no-one does.

Grizz, what's the plan for that parking lot to the east?

Yes, and it will be a few years before the building goes in. They are building out the AT&T building inside first.
