I noticed that the old Kitchen Corner Building at 3 E 10th St (just west of TCC) is now a coffee shop.

Per the Campbell Hotel on 11th street, another route 66 coffee house:

http://www.thecampbellhotel.com/hotel-daily-blog/2013/02/28/new-neighbors-on-the-way/

QuoteWe're getting new neighbors this spring! 918 Coffee is slated to open sometime this spring in the former George Tunes auto repair shop a couple of blocks west of The Campbell Hotel.

Route66News.com reported in January that Dr. Morad El-Raheb, a local physician, bought the property about a year ago and is turning it into a coffeehouse.

The most striking part of the property is the 1928 cottage-style gas station attached to the old garage.

Dr. El-Raheb told Urban Tulsa Weekly that he plans to incorporate the repair shop's old 1940s-era toolboxes into the coffeehouse's decor. The restored toolboxes will serve as condiment stations, he told the paper.

918 Coffee isn't the only coffeehouse on Route 66 in Tulsa. Last fall, Foolish Things Coffee Company opened downtown, and JoeBot's Coffee, located inside Dwelling Spaces gift shop, is next door to Yokozuna sushi on the Second Street alignment of Route 66 in the Blue Dome District.

When it opens, 918 Coffee will join a vibrant local coffeehouse scene. Tulsa is home to more than a dozen independent coffeehouses, each with its own unique personality. If you're a coffee lover, we highly recommend spending a weekend or two buzzing around Tulsa, sampling all the great coffee we have to offer — and of course we'd love for you to stay with us while you're in town. With 26 uniquely decorated rooms, we have something to suit every taste. Visit us at www.thecampbellhotel.com or call (918) 744-5500 for more information or to reserve a room.

Hipsters.  ::)

Edit: I just looked at that Hotel's web site. It is absolutely beautiful. They even have a Leon Russell room. That would be a wonderful weekend stay away. (from the house and kids)

I think visiting all these coffee shops would be cool if they would actually stay open past 5:00pm...

As a side note: I never understood how anybody could drink Coffee outside when it's 110 degrees.

Ya Doubleshot is who I was targeting, I like Topeca but its ...Ehh, JoeBots is..Eh...Gypsey is also Eh..most of the ones listed above have semi-par coffee offerings while doubleshot is in my list some of the better roasted and served but as stated closes at 5...looking forward to trying Foolish things...I compare my findings to other great places I travel when it comes to good coffee and not just served coffee...OKC has some awesome coffee houses which are on par to doubleshot

You might try coffee at Lucky's on Cherry Street.

Which is why I immediately filed Foolish Things Coffee into the 'interesting but I'll likely never visit'.

Topeca is in a better location and it's open past 5 every day except Sunday. On Thursday-Saturday nights, when it's open 'til 10pm, it's one of a very few places downtown to grab a sandwich/snack at that hour.

Hodges Bend & Foolish Things both serve Topeca coffee.  Chip is a partner in Hodges Bend.  They have a nice pourover rig, a nice three head La Marzocco espresso machine and Chemex is also on the menu at the Bend.  I'd consider Hodges Bend to be the "gourmet/coffee snob" Topeca shop.  You should give Chimera a try.  The staff their seems very good and they are serving coffees from around the world roasted by smaller batch roasters from around the US.

Blake is serving Intelligentsia at Phoenix.

Elemental and Coffee Slingers are probably the best shops in OKC.

The hard part about coffee is so many factors go into the brew process.  Temp, humidity can affect extraction times and temps so much that a shop can serve a great cup in the morning and then the exact same barista can serve a borderline cup that afternoon because the humidity changed.

Ditto on elemental, they love their coffee so much they won't don't have anything to even add to it, unless you want sugar or honey...its a great brew, I do love that Foolish Things has the oak aged cold brew...

Caffeine is a drug. It is addictive. Weather has no bearing on getting a fix.

That is true. Come to think of it. I drank cold beer in the Winter.  ::)

The owner of Doubleshots is a Doubledooshe. He cannot have my money.

John at Topeka is a very nice human being and he can have my money. I had a macchiato (double espresso with a dab of foam) at Hodges Bend on Friday and it was perfect. Try ordering one at Doubleshot... I dare you.
