Satellite radio for me.  I can listen to my MSNBC all day long!

Can't pay for radio. Too many free alternatives. To me it's akin to suggesting I get AOL so I can get the best internet experience.

But when the free alternatives are not that great, AOL,....er, uh, Sirius, looks pretty good.

Listened to some KMOD this morning since I was in range.  Gawd, what a mess!  They are so far beyond clueless (Clear Channel) they will never get back...

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Sirius/XM has billing/customer service issues.  I'll never pay for it again and will always let persons know I don't trust them worth a damn.

That company will steal from you.  Keep an eye on your account.

I had to file a complaint with the BBB in order to get the money back over a year later.

Florida's loss, our gain.  Or maybe we just haven't gained enough.  Those two frequencies would make great public access channels!!

Good to see you get it that they are all about the big lie.

It is too bad you didn't get to grow up with them much earlier.  They used to be a very good channel.  Remember John Erhling??  Remember when he was pretty much a central/moderate/liberal??  His show was always interesting and entertaining.  But then they sold out to the Murdochian FantasyWorld and we have today's KRMG.  Sorry state of affairs.

Were they still sponsoring the raft race when you started listening?  Remember the 'Ski Tulsa Mountains' campaigns?

And to answer your question, no, it is not being overly dramatic.  NPR is still very good -either TU or OSU channels.  Their problem is they can at times tend to the 'dry' (boring?) so it can turn some off.  The real trick is to have enough excitement in presentation to hold your interest, but not to 'scream' at you.  The problem comes about because all the shrill harpy screaming from most sides sensitizes people to the point that if it is missing, it puts you to sleep.  About the only way to de-sensitize is to dial it down a few notches over at 88.7 on your FM dial.  Spend a few weeks at no more than medium volume, and you will start to de-program.  Plus, get to hear some really good music!!

An added plus is that there are studies that show classical music helps the learning process when trying to study/learn.  Bonus!!

What I liked about John Erhling was his passion.   He could be sarcastic, but if he believed in a cause he would put his heart into it.   I remember when a Catoosa Police officer needed some help for medical cost/procedure, John was front and center to help him.   He had a big heart.  He would take calls from anyone, Jimmy Byrd comes to mind.   I grew up with Jimmy, I know now he was autistic, brilliant is some areas but backwards in social interaction.   I always got a kick when Jimmy would call in to John to give his opinion about something.........sometimes Jimmy would say something brilliant, but most times it was off the wall.   But John always treated him like one of his best friends.
Trust but verify

Looking back over my radio years two things jump out, Cardinal baseball on KVOO and John Henry on KMOD Saturday.

I don't miss Cardinal baseball....I still miss John Henry. :'(

With where I'm living now even Sirius/XM is problematic because of the mountains and tree lines blocking the signal, and of the stations on this list
http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/locate?select=city&city=Coquille&state=OR&x=13&y=7 I'm lucky to get half of them, and since most are syndicated several of them carry identical programming, a thumb drive plugged into my car stereo is one of the best alternatives on trips. Even cell phone coverage is spotty to none existant in some areas.

Back to the original point, thats the the problem with stations being acquired by Crap Channel, or Bonnaventure, or any of the other major syndicators that you lose the local identity of stations, and you get program driven drivel.

It's the best $12 a month I spend.

Maybe that is why their stock has gone up so much - keeping everyone's money....

They met expectations.

They deleted their forum on FB.  Almost 100% complaints of theft and bad customer service.  Evil, evil offshoring.

They have done nicely as an investment for the last several years.  Glad I got in at 50 cents rather than 50 dollars a share.  Sounds like it might be time to move on, though, if they are pissing people off that much.  Still, I wish I had bought $100,000 worth rather than $100 worth at that time....

Those issues have been going on for years.  I had to deal with them in 2010.  Congrats on your investment.

Not that great...I think I have made about $200 total, after all the expenses.

I looked around a little and there apparently have been over 3200 reports to BBB about the problems.  If I can believe the propaganda out there in the world that says they have 20 milion subscribers, that is about a .016 % "bad vibe" ratio.  Figure 3 or 4 times that for people who didn't complain to BBB, then still kind of a small number.  But the couple of cases I read about were pretty stupid things for a company to do.  Gotta wonder what's going on there, that's for sure, but those low numbers don't really suggest a pattern of behavior yet...

Lots of ways to really piss off a customer - there are some around that do that to me, for sure; Windstream AND Cox Communications - but this almost sounds like a "spot" event...several times over.

Eh, I have no idea how many people with issues complained to the BBB.  I know my experience and it was by far the worst I've ever had with a customer service department.  Eventually it wasn't the money, it was the principle.

Anyway, I don't listen to KRMG but I went through highschool listening to Ehrling in the morning.

My biggest memory was an interview of his on "In Search Of" in the late 70's or early 80's.  It was spooky back then.
