Yeah, and guns sometimes go off without the trigger being pulled.

Sadly, sometimes they do.  Remington 700 has had a few issues in recent years.  Haven't heard of anyone being killed, but they have gone off with startling effect.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

If I introduced a product, say, a new kind of blender that killed 321 people during its first year on the market, there wouldn't be a second year.  Yet some of our gun-worshiping legislators made gun manufacturers immune from product liability laws.  Granted, their products aren't defective, especially handguns, which are responsible for roughly 98% of all gun deaths.

I actually have one of those. It will puree a brick (or an iPad). It's freakin' awesome.

I was thinking of the "Will It Blend?" video series on YouTube when I wrote that.  It truly is an awesome blender.

Interesting disconnect.  The government will move to kill a product which kills or injures a handful of people a year.

Motor vehicles, various tobacco products, alcohol, and government-approved prescription meds kill thousands upon thousands of people every year, yet they continue to allow their existence.

Granted, we don't expect a baby crib to kill it's occupant, but there is a real irony here.

But see, somehow I'm guessing the 'blender lobby' doesn't have a lot of pull inside the Beltway...

Over 100 people a year die from tylenol.

0 people a year die from smoking marijuana.

Guess which one is illegal...

There are many discontinuities and disconnects from reality in the life and times of America.  We still allow people to inflict a deadly assault on their children continuously for at least 18 years in what should be the safety of their own homes - turn them into addicts of the most addictive drug the planet has ever known - and kill tens of thousands per year....with no legal repercussions.  And we are worried about whether I can hunt with 10 rounds or 20 in my rifle???  Where are the prohibitions and criminal consequences of killing your kids with second hand smoke??  Someone said earlier we are doing a lot to solve some of these other problems that kill vast numbers of people including children.  Well, when there is prison time for people who smoke in their house or car with their kids sitting next to them, MAYBE I will start to believe that crock of carp!  Maybe.

And there again. I cannot make my own Tylenol, nor can I grow my own Tabacco. So they are OK as long as good Ol Uncle Sam gets his precious Tax money. Joe Blow will not pay for Gubment Mary Jane as long as he can grow his own Tax free stash in pretty much every State in the Union.

We all know Ciggs and Alcohol are bigger killers than herbage ever will be. But they can't control it, so it leads to usage of harder drugs like prescription pills.....OK wait, what? I just love that myth. But hey. It keeps the law on the books.
So essentially we are hoping for a "pipe" dream. Until they release a media photo of Obama taking a bong hit. I wouldn't hold my breath to long. Well just long enough for the hit to take effect.
Changing opinions one mistake at a time.

Hey, all it takes is truckloads of cash.

It truly is an awesome blender.

The only downside to it is the battery juice in my green smoothies. Maybe I should stop being cheap and get another carafe. Seriously though, it's more than a little creepy that it can make hot soup.
